Thanks Isis for the heads up on this one! :seeya:

    http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/2014/02/20/07/52/melbourne-couple-found-stabbed-to-death-in-home

A major manhunt is underway in Melbourne after a husband and wife were found stabbed to death in their home.

The bodies of Robert and Cheryl Adamson were found yesterday afternoon at the Murrumbeena property they had lived in for 40 years.

Neighbours of the pair have described them as a "lovely couple".

Colleagues of Mrs Adamson, 60, who worked in a library, found the pair after visiting their home when they failed to show up for work.

Police have not yet ruled out a burglary gone wrong, but there are no obvious signs of forced entry or that the couple had assaulted each other.

Yet another senseless murder... I just can't get my head around all these murders, to sound 40 yrs older 'what is the world coming to'? Really what is happening to society?

I will not share my initial thoughts on this case because...I can't really so I did a little research on the couple. Robert was an accountant http://www.hotfrog.com.au/Companies/Robert-Adamson#Overview and Cheryl was a beloved librarian at what appears to be a very nice school. Sad photos show people taking their cats out of the house. Sometimes we forget that these senseless murders don't just hurt people but pets, too.

A strange case with what seem to be some strange contradictions... A 'lovely couple' and then it's widely stated in the media that up to TEN! ! firearms were located and removed from the premises (apparently not related to this particular crime though). And then the repeated emphasis of the son assisting police but not being treated as a suspect. So wonder why his car is being towed away, though, for forensic analysis? .....

Oh Plumeria5, that IS really sad to hear about the cats . You're right - we do tend to forget about the animals. Poor things.

Yep, the multiple firearms is a little concerning!!:scared: He was an accountant, wasn't he? I was thinking he was a farmer and maybe that was why he had weapons - but farmers don't need that many anyway.

    Hi Xantara!:seeya:

Is it the son's car? I couldn't find that detail in MSM - I've only read 'a white 4WD', but no specifics on whose it was.......(but I may well have missed it!!:blushing:)
