A 38-year-old male senior constable from Brisbane Region has today been charged with one count of murder.

Police charged the man today following a joint investigation by the Child Trauma Task Force within the Child Safety and Sexual Crime Group, State Crime Command and the Ethical Standards Command.

The investigation relates to the death of a two-month-old boy at a residence in Victoria Point on June 28, 2014.

The man, who is currently suspended from duty with the Queensland Police Service, will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 1.
