Bung, who is Thai, was last seen by her mother Vanidda and father, Fred Pattison, at 8.20am yesterday, before she left for school, the Knox Leader reports.

Her parents raised the alarm with Boronia police when Bung failed to return home from school by 4.30pm.

Mr Pattison said Bung walked the 10 minute route to Boronia Heights College each day.

Still no news on Bung today.

It has been so chilly in Melbourne this weekend and every time I feel cold I think about Bung wearing only her school dress & raincoat and I want to cry.

UPDATE: BORONIA teenager Siriyakorn “Bung’’ Siriboon has not been found since going missing on Thursday.

Police are still searching for the teenager this morning, after her father issued a plea to find his adopted 13-year-old daughter on Friday.

    ...

He said it was “completely out of character” for the “streetwise” teenager to disappear.

“I had just got home from nightshift and she ate her breakfast and said goodbye to us just like she normally does,’’ Mr Pattison said.

“There were no major arguments; we’re a close family.

‘’The school didn’t alert us to the fact that she had been absent that day, so we had no idea she was missing.”

Bung and her sister Siriporn “Bang’’ Siriboon, 20, have been living in Australia for four years.

Mr Pattison said Bung was not fluent in English, but she could communicate effectively.

“We miss her, we just want her home safe,’’ Mr Pattison said.

“She’s gentle, shy; she cares about other people’s feelings.

“If she has problems or anything she’s dealing with, we want her to know that she can talk to us about it.

“If anyone even thinks that they’ve seen her, call the police.’‘

Disturbing is the way the Knox Leader article has worded this sentence:

"Mr Pattison said Bung was not fluent in English, but she could communicate effectively."

    Awful.

    MOO

ETA : All quotes attributed to Fred Pattison show that he consistently speaks of Bung in the present tense. This is not a direct quote of Mr Pattison.

UPDATE 5pm: POLICE have not ruled out abduction in the case of a missing Boronia teenager.

Siriyakorn ‘Bung’ Siriboon, 13, has not been seen since she said farewell to her mother Vanidda and step-father Fred Pattison at 8.20am last Thursday morning before she left for school.

Members from Knox Police met with the Knox Crime Investigation Unit (CIU), which has taken over the investigation, this afternoon.

Knox CIU detective Sen-Constable Ian Brown said while there was nothing to suggest Bung had been abducted, it could not be ruled out.

“At this stage, there’s no reason to believe Bung is not in the area,” Sen-Constable Brown said.

“We’re hoping for the best possible scenario which would be she’s gone off with a friend.

“She might think she’s in trouble with her parents which is delaying her showing her face.”

Sen-Constable Brown said Bung’s parents would be interviewed tonight.

“They are obviously very concerned as this is an act out of character for Bung,” he said.

Mr Pattison told the Leader this morning that the lack of information on Bung’s disappearance was evident and asked the public to “keep an eye out” for his adopted daughter.

“We don’t want to know who or what or why or how, we don’t want to blame anyone, we just want her home safe,” Mr Pattison said.

POLICE have confirmed two reported sightings of missing Boronia teenager Siriyakorn “Bung’’ Siriboon.

Two separate witnesses say they spotted the 13-year-old in the morning and afternoon of June 2 - the day she disappeared.

Bung, who is Thai and can only speak conversational English, has been missing for five days.

Knox Crime Investigation Unit’s detective Sen-Constable Rohan Bodsworth, who is heading the investigation, confirmed a witness had spotted Bung walking down Chandler Rd, Boronia - towards Dorset Rd - at 3.20pm.

She was wearing her blue-and-white school uniform.

A second witness confirmed Bung had been seen walking to Boronia Heights College on Mount View Rd, Boronia, on June 2 just after 8am.

UPDATE 4.45pm: KNOX police set up an information caravan in Boronia tomorrow hoping for help to find missing teen Siriyakorn ‘Bung’ Siriboon.

The 13-year-old has not returned home since she said farewell to her mother Vanidda and step-father Fred Pattison at 8.20am last Thursday morning before she left for school.

Sen-Sgt Neil White said police would set up an information caravan on Albert Ave, near the corner of Bambury St, from 7.30am until about 10am tomorrow before moving to Boronia railways station.

Sen-Sgt White said the operation would give the public a chance to approach police with any information on Bung’s possible location, and anything else that might help the investigation.

Fears continue to grow for Bung, who will have been missing for a week tomorrow.

I don't know how much this will help, but I wanted to put up a visual of Bung's last known movements. Also highlighted is the location of her school.

I have highlighted in pink the roads that witnesses saw Bung walking along on Thursday June 2nd.

She was last seen walking along Chandler Rd at 3.20 pm towards Dorset Rd.
This to me raises the possibility that she may have been heading to Boronia Central shopping center, Metro cinema, or Boronia train station (pointer A).
These three places are hives of activity and would have surveillance cameras recording at all times.

But so far there has been no report of her being spotted in any surveillance footage.

That's about as far as I got. At this stage this is a pretty big dead end. I'm at a loss and scared. I can't imagine how those closest to Bung must be feeling.
