Reservoir resident Teresa Manusco (aka Teresa Paulino) was found dead in the back yard of her Massey St. home on July 14, after neighbours heard "strange noises" and called 000. Police are treating her death as 'suspicious' and an autopsy report is pending re her injuries and cause of death, which police will not at this stage discuss.

The killer apparently left footprints outside her home, and a dark coloured 4WD seen parked in the street at an odd angle at the time is being sought as a possible connection.

Ms. Manusco was a hairdresser, a mother of two adult sons, and was well-liked in her local community. She had been separated from her husband for about 15 years.

Teresa lived at home with her elderly mother. I hope her mother is alright! I wonder if she witnessed anything?

Saw this on the news, nothing since though. Seems like a case of domestic violence, you do wonder why they don't follow up with completion reports in the media. Otherwise, if it was some random killer wouldn't this have been more profile? Victoria, unfortunately, is rising in crime and violence every day. JMO

My first thought was domestic violence.. But they've been separated 15 years? Kind of a slow burner, if it was the ex-hubby.

The skewiff parking of that 4wd might indicate that the perp did rush up, leap out and attack her, though. Very personal and full of rage, if it was indeed his car.

It's not just Vic, though, re the increased violence.. seems to me that women are being killed (or mysteriously vanishing) all over the country at the moment.

I worry that with this increase, we're going down the same path with MSM as other countries -- with some murders being 'newsworthy' and some not. Used to be, --every murder-- here was massive deal, as they really didn't happen all that often.

The violence against women issue really needs to translate to more severe sentencing in courts. The huge number of rapes and murders -needs- to be looked at very seriously by -everyone- or we'll end up even more hostage to the crooks out there. I've hated watching Aus turn from a trusting society to an untrusting one...

Sorry, just read too many Aussie cases lately. >< Gets me hopping mad at what's happening here...

Bah -- SORRY for the misspelling of Teresa's name in the title of the thread and elsewhere... I took it from an incorrect MSM report, and was just so tired I didn't notice it was different elsewhere...

Her correct name is Teresa Mancuso, NOT Manusco. I see the name's been corrected in the MSM reports now, too.

Could a kindly mod please help with those corrections here? I feel terrible..

A picture of Teresa from msm:

Police are apparently surmising that she probably knew her killer, no sign of forced entry, etc..

My first thought was that it was the ex-husband (based on absolutely no facts, though!). So was interesting to read that about the car. If it is him, I sincerely hope he is arrested for it. Even though it's 15 years since they were together, you never know - he could have been trying to reunite with her and she rejected him or she could have met someone new and it triggered his rage.

She looks like such a lovely woman.

In bordermail.com article of 7-22-13 above ("Police Step Up Probe...")

It is reported that, "Plaster casts of shoe prints lifted from a front garden bed were taken by police."

I wonder if LE has found the owner of the shoes that matched these prints?

I wonder how often/recent Teresa had been in contact with her Ex...?

I wonder if he visited her regularly at her home, where she lived with her mother?

So, here's another woman up this end of town dead -- and no arrest yet. No updates, no massive msm fuss.

With several murders that look like domestic violence around here, as well as several that look like random violence toward women, and nearly of them in the woman's own home, I am disgusted that there's not more noise about the issue.

One thing, though - I have a lot of confidence in our homicide squad. They are hard-working and don't give up!

Teresa did not deserve the death she got. Her sons do not deserve this to be the memory they have, nor the pain its caused them. Melbourne needs to start setting examples in the courts, regarding violence toward women!

A year on, three murders unsolved

    July 11, 2014

    Teresa Mancuso

Police have a prime suspect in the murder of the mother of two, who was found in her Reservoir home by a family member on July 15 after neighbours heard a disturbance.

Ms Mancuso was in the process of divorcing her husband, Fernando Paulino, who has been spoken to by detectives several times. His Mitsubishi Pajero four-wheel drive was seized by police for forensic examination hours after Ms Mancuso’s body was found.

Police have twice released information about a similar four-wheel drive, which was parked unusually outside Ms Mancuso’s house the night she died, and was seen in CCTV footage driving along her street several times that afternoon. Detectives are no longer appealing for witnesses who had seen the vehicle to come forward.

One year has passed and no arrest. Interesting the sons were supporting a domestic violence gathering. I wonder if there had been D.V. in the past.

I'm surprised and dismayed that there's been no arrest yet... but as I've said, I have faith in our Vic police! They have proven (and never more than in the past couple of years) that they certainly do not give up!

Thinking of Teresa and her loved ones.

I do believe there was, Marg, but I'll have dig the links up tomorrow, too tired presently. But yep - I figure that is what has motivated the sons to do this wonderful thing, not just for their mother but ALL victims of domestic violence. What great kids she has.

A year has passed with no arrest. Interesting is the fact that her sons are involved with fund raising for domestic violence victims.
I wonder if there was D.V. in the past.

She had been separated from the husband for 15 years and had now only applied for a divorce. I wonder if she had met someone and was planning on getting married. JMOO
