The above video says they have DNA connecting him to Toyah.
Is that the first time that info has become public Toots?
I believe that is correct …. But JMO, as it is local knowledge…. And I believe they have a lot more than just a spec of DNA evidence… but again IMO as I don’t have a link …

SLouTh, I'm not sure.
It stood out to me, but I may have missed seeing it mentioned before.

Rajwinder Singh’s family gathered in Delhi this week to meet with him before he is extradited to Australia to face charges over Cordingley’s death.

Singh’s family said they believe he will beat the charge.

“We are not afraid of him going back to Australia,” Amar Singh said.

“Whatever will happen has to happen. We are sure that we will be served justice.”

The Singh family will have one last visit with Singh at the Tihar jail complex before he is extradited, but family members said one of his parents intends to join him on the flight to Australia.

Details on exactly when the flight is planned have not been released but 7NEWS understands it will take happen early next week, starting with a direct flight into Melbourne before flying to Queensland.

Rajwinder Singh, 38, boarded a Qantas flight from New Delhi to Melbourne on Tuesday evening.

Escorted by seven police officers, he was taken from South Asia's largest jail, Delhi's Tihar Prison, to the airport where he checked into the flight

Seems that he wanted to go to court in Melbourne, instead of Qld, but wasn't able to.

"Singh's lawyers had explored a way for him to face court in Melbourne but it's understood that legal avenue doesn't exist."

As per The Cairns Post:

RS has been charged in Melbourne, and being held in remand in Melbourne until a flight can be arranged to Cairns…. A Charter Flight, due to his safety……

And that the case has been built on the DNA evidence and mobile phone data ….

The court heard he would need to stay in remand in Melbourne while police arranged for flights to Cairns in the coming days.

Act Supt Goan successfully applied to the court to be able to extradite Mr Singh to the sunshine state where he is expected to then be charged with murder.

a private flight was preferred over commercial for the safety of the public and Mr Singh, due to the heavy media interest in his arrest.

Snip ….

The investigation relied upon DNA evidence which links Mr Singh to her homicide,” he said.

He said phone cell tower evidence also showed both Mr Singh and Ms Corgingley’s mobile phones “travelling in sync”.

Mr Grinberg ordered Singh be extradited to Cairns on Thursday. If he cannot get a flight then, he may have to return to the Victorian court for another order.

Singh was remanded in custody and will appear at a court in Cairns later this week.

Outside court, Acting Supt Goan said Ms Cordingley's family were "overwhelmed but delighted" that the judicial process will soon begin in Australia, more than four years after her death.

"There is a lengthy process ahead of us, when we return to Queensland," he told reporters.

"Toyah's family has been included every step of the way in this process and clearly they will take some comfort in knowing that the justice process will commence on Australian soil."
