Mr O'Brien said that while medical evidence suggested the victims were abused in the first half 1987, it didn't show exactly when the abuse happened.

Mr O'Brien said one of the victims had attended Westmead Hospital and that an examination 'supported penetration but it doesn't show when penetration occurred'.

Whatever the outcome, two little innocent girls have probably had there lives ruined by whoever committed these vile acts, we can only hope they get closure . In saying that I'm married to a wonderful man who was sadistically abused by a teacher at a very young age. Even though this man was convicted and sent to jail ( only 4 years) for the graphic abuse of at least 7 very young students( I'm sure there were many more) it gives them a little closure but the scars are there forever xx

'While at hospital she nominated [Bill Spedding] as the offender,' Mr O'Brien quoted the judgement.

One of the girls said 'it is Bill'.
But Mr O'Brien said there had been a 'thorough police investigation' of Mr Spedding back in the late 1980s and he hadn't been charged.

The tendered judgement also contains allegations of 'ongoing' child sexual abuse by Mr Spedding in Victoria.

**Opposing bail, Rosa Sharma argued that the two young girls Spedding is accused of molesting 'were very clear that it was [Bill Spedding]'.

**Ms Sharma said the girls' mother 'saw bruising and a gaping hole in her genitals and th three-year-old said it was this applicant [Spedding] who has touched her down there'.
While Spedding's defence has offered to put up bail of $100,000 and for him to live with his wife and not do house calls where there might be children, Ms Sharma argued Spedding was 'facing full time custody in the latter half of his life' and the risk he would break bail conditions was to great.

I understand what you are saying Frogwell the only difference between what you suggest and the BS case is there is documented medical evidence. I'm afraid in a case of child abuse / paedophilia I would believe the child first until the perpetrator was otherwise proven innocent.
I know that goes against innocent until proven guilty.

I agree there is documented evidence a crime took place but no evidence as to who did it.

I wonder what saving would make you ineligible for legal aide?

How so?

Today's news makes me more convinced of Spedding's guilt

I do not think there could ever be a better defence in history then revealing the same children were living in the same house as a serial pedophile murderer who revealed in his court transcript that he had taken one of the same children's clothing for sexual gratification. Also proof that the medical exam of the children could only say a abuse within a 6 months period.
Not convinced completely as I realise this is just the defences version of events. Only thing still ringing in my ears is the sharing of victims claims by police so perhaps BS was a co offender. Considering the first bail hearing the only offered $30000 in property I'd say someone has helped them or maybe their super?

Look at it this way, he held off on them for 3 - 6 years until his brother in law was out of jail for 1 month and took that opportunity to do very sadistic acts to small children. Lucky he can pick and choose when he acts compared to the ex brother in law who can't help himself.

Looking at it another way -
