When is the last time LE came out and stated about the POI's? It has been a while i think. I know they stated BS was not top of their list anymore and that was posted some threads ago. They can't completely eliminate people if they have no idea who actually took WT, or they would have caught the perp. already IMO.

BBM: Maybe give Jubes a call and let him know that. He is evidently doing something wrong.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Jubelin, who’s leading the investigation, on Tuesday said “hundreds” of persons of interest had been eliminated in the past year.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Jubelin said despite the elimination of hundreds of suspects, detectives were still committed to the case.

I am not aware he was paying 2 lots of rent? Maybe the other people living at the pawn shop premises were covering that?
His pawn business went bust didn't it?
What is BS living on now with legal bills etc.? I'm sure with the media coverage he has had his business and life is probably in ruins by now being he has been linked to such a high profile case?
Maybe they have savings or other investments or old age pensions, so who knows?

Do you have a link to show that other people were living there? It would be interesting to know who they were.

What are they living on? Us. Our money - our taxes - in the form of Social Security

Until 2014, Bickford was the president of Grandparents as Parents Again (GAPA), a group established in 2005 by the Country Women's Association and Uniting Care Burnside Hastings Family Support Centre.

This week Bickford said he was "acquaintances" with Anthony 'Tony' Jones, 60, another person of interest in the Tyrrell investigation.

It has previously been reported that Jones, who was imprisoned in September for the indecent assault of a child, was a member of GAPA.

Detectives investigating the disappearance of William Tyrrell have examined two grandparent support groups, one of whose former members included two paedophiles, after looking into washing machine repairman Bill Spedding.

It is understood Jones used to live in Wellington in north-west NSW, where Mr Spedding also lived and ran a pawnbroker business until his move to the Mid North Coast.
Police also turned their attention to another local support group, believed to be the Grandparent and Kinship Care Association.

Wasn't one of these groups a break away from the other?

BBM: I always wondered if Spedding was a member of the 2nd support group.

Here is that link for karrina

Note the man believed ... so he would not have known their income or payment arrangements...imo

Fairfax has reported police seized a single mattress and computers from a unit in Laurieton, which is about a 15 minute drive from where the boy disappeared on September 12...................

An employee of a shop underneath told Fairfax forensic officers had taken several items from the scene.

He said he believed a man and a woman lived in the unit but said he had never seen anyone in the office space where police had focused their investigations.

Thanks soso. Believed, but never saw anyone. So I wonder what made him think / believe that there were people there.

I wonder if the unit he's referring to is the pawn shop? Or did Spedding have another room / unit there too? The mind boggles.

Do people seriously think that POIs do not get cleared?? That the police are supposed to keep 600 POIs under constant watch and investigation, just in case?

Of course, POIs get cleared. The number of POIs dwindles and dwindles, until a short list of them is remaining. The police need focus, not to have their attention scattered everywhere, for 3½ years.

Other crimes are happening constantly. It is a matter of resources, and a process of elimination.

New South Wales police say they have eliminated hundreds of suspects as they continue to investigate the disappearance of toddler William Tyrrell, who went missing three years ago today.

Agreed. Without elimination the investigation would not move forward.

From Bohemian's transcript of the media press conference...

(10:42) GJ:

'This is a dynamic investigation. I think the last time I spoke to the media we talked about a large number of persons of interest that we have in this matter. A substantial amount of those persons of interest have now been reduced but, because of the dynamic nature of this investigation, that list of persons of interest is constantly being added to so we are reducing the persons of interest.

Without going into methodology, we prioritise our lines of inquiry. We prioritise persons of interest and we target them. And we make no apologies to the vigorous way in which we target persons of interest. This is a serious crime that we're treating with the intensity that it deserves and we target persons of interest until we can thoroughly eliminate them.'

As of Sept. last year BS was still on the POI list.

Yep and someone had to be paying the rent.

Thanks Lemony, timely post for some to read !

So the two convicted paedophiles were both members of this group, I would assume to be a member you would be a grandparent caring for your grandchildren - shudder.

http://mpegmedia.abc.net.au/rn/podcast/2013/01/lms_20130104_0905.mp3

36:40 of the podcast.

Paul Bickford himself speaks of the challenges of grandparents raising their grandchildren.

In 2006 the census said 40,000 grandparents were raising their granchildren.

Worth a listen to hear what PB says
