I'm not confident that DOCS is the first agency who would be aware of such allegations.

The Police tell DOCS about it, not the other way around.

It depends on the nature of the allegations.

Mandated reporters fill in an online survey thing if a disclosure is made or if they become aware of something that needs to be reported. You select the option that describes the situation best and it tells you who to contact and what action to take when you get to the end.

i thought the boys in bs care were ms grandsons, but this quote makes it sound like the boys mother didnt know bs?

The mother of the three young boys, who cannot be named, was shocked to discover that the children had been living with a man accused of child abuse.

The boys' grandfather told the newspaper: 'I am very concerned about what may have happened to my grandchildren.'

I think that's saying she didn't know he was a child molester, not that she didn't know him at all
But didn't she report the abuse almost 3 years ago?

The mother who wants her child back said she was informed by FACs in December it was investigating Mr Spedding but would not tell her why.

The same month Port Macquarie detectives tried to contact her, she said, adding that she was horrified when she saw news reports of police searching the Speddings’ home.

“I saw Bill Spedding on TV and I rang FACs,” the mother said.

This is the mother interviewed back in January.
FACS told her they were investigating BS but would not say why, detectives also contacted her. If she had made the complaints I think she would already know why. imo

something i read much earlier in the search on one of the social media sites is that it was all organised beforehand in sydney, dont know by whom?
it bothers me

What was organised beforehand in Sydney? The abduction? I think that may be hearsay, how would anyone know unless they were involved?

yes, she reported it nearly three years ago, maybe she means she was shocked three years ago when she reported it, to discover what bs had done, not shocked recently?

yes, the abduction, it was on one of the many william fb pages, so most likely rumour, it stuck in my head though because the person seemed adamant like they knew something. i have tried to get my head around the implications of what that could mean if true.

and she only wants her child back not children? so were there others apart from ms 3 grandsons being fostered at the time?

was this the mother who still has her sons room as he left it and the christmas tree still up?
how sad for her, i wonder if hes been returned home to her now if he was removed from bs?

Reference was made to grandma maybe feeling guilty in the parents interview.
Why because she told the washing machine repair man her family were visiting.
Then mention of the compromise to wear a t-shirt instead of a singlet and then a plumber to find a t shirt blocking a pipe of the said repair man.

Very early Fehon said "It is not up to detectives to identify a suspect and throw all their resources into getting the brief up on them.

Instead, they meticulously work on excluding suspects."

Everything just keeps pointing to BS. imo

It seems that Rodney, like ol' mate Colin, tried to defend Spedding but just made things worse.

"Spedding also allegedly gave a child to another man to use for sex, court documents state."

* Police are expected to lay more charges involving other people who acted with or separately to Spedding.

Spedding also allegedly gave a child to another man to use for sex, court documents state.

However, Spedding has not been charged in relation to these claims.

Not been charged are they not historical.
Just getting the brief together. imo

What a sick ...................

Really? Denis Ferguson comes to mind.

It would be good to see a public referendum on the matter of a national sex offender register. Possible vigilantism vs increased child protection. Let the people decide.

3 of our 8 states/territories - NT, WA and SA - have all decided to go with a public register, and I have yet to hear of any vigilante acts.

Just to clarify ..... I was speaking of WA, SA and NT - the disgusting Dennis Ferguson was a resident of NSW and QLD - and I was speaking of not hearing about any vigilantism in the 3 states since WA, SA and NT started their public sex offender registers, which was spurred by the post above mine.

For those who are not familiar with Dennis Ferguson, who got a paltry 14 years for abducting, transporting to another state, and raping 3 young children - less than 5 years per child:

I think it was discussed as a possibility. We still don't know what happened to William. Could someone have had something against the custodial parents? Anything's possible, but police don't seem to be leaning that way.

Why are people still sluething other people and posting their findings on thread?? Only POI is allowed to be sluethed and discussed on thread.

The thread will yet again be closed down and it's not fair on the poster's that adhere to the rules [emoji35]

The police have said the Tshirt was not related. He FAS 3 kids living there too and would he really be stupid enough to stuff a Tshirt down s pipe then call the plumber? I think that was released to justify their search as people were saying bs was an innocent man or scapegoat.

unless ms or someone else found the t shirt and flushed it?

For me the curious thing about the tshirt is that a tshirt was mentioned in the parent's interview around the same time that the drainpipe incident was made public. If the police knew the tshirt was not WT's then why is the information released around the same time the parents talk about a tshirt?

Seems too similar to the newspaper report days after WTs disappearance that just happens to mention a washing machine van parked on the street. Such a specific and unlikely thing to write in a newspaper article.
