AZ AZ - Adrienne Salinas, 19, Tempe, 15 Jun 2013 - #8

I think of you everyday, baby girl. I pray that your killer will be apprehended and made to pay for the horrible thing he did to you and for taking away your beautiful and unique presence from this world and all who knew and loved you. While I never met you, I found your family and friends and Francisco to be kind and loving and warm. Just like you. Someday your murder will be solved. I believe that with all my heart.

Praying for justice as I now involve myself in another case here that makes me think of you even more.

:heartbeat:

From the news today:

Reward Increased in Disappearance of Tempe College Student

http://www.azcentral.com/story/news...nd-anniversary-of-her-disappearance/28920105/

Tempe police and the FBI have increased the reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the death of a 19-year-old college student who disappeared two years ago from a neighborhood west of Mill Avenue.

The mysterious disappearance of Adrienne Salinas, reported to police on June 16, 2013, resulted in a massive search that ended with a tragic discovery when her remains were found about two months later in a desert wash near State Route 88 and Lost Dutchman's Boulevard, just west of Lost Dutchman State Park and the Superstition Mountains.

Lt. Mike Pooley, a Tempe police spokesman, said the reward has been increased to $20,000 from $1,000, with the FBI's assistance. He said anyone with information about Adrienne's disappearance or death can call Tempe police at (480) 350-8311, Silent Witness at (480) 948-6377, or the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

:bump: Thinking of Adrienne. Where's her justice?

It's so sad that the only mention we see of Adrienne is in cold case reviews. I just thought about her (took me a while to find the thread!) and did a quick Google search. I hadn't seen this article from August:

http://www.nbcnews.com/feature/cold...53am-5-00am-adrienne-salinas-vanished-n413901

I'm sketchy on the details since I haven't reviewed this case for a while but I don't think there's anything new.

Stone cold...

Stoooone cold.

From the above link:

"This was a busy part of town. People are riding bikes. People are coming home from the bars. We've looked [on surveillance tapes] and there is nothing. She just disappeared," Lt. Mike Pooley with the Tempe Police Department told Dateline NBC.

He's been investigating the case from the beginning.

"The lack of evidence has been huge in this case," said Pooley. "Nobody is completely cleared. However, we are pretty sure the cab driver and boyfriend have had no involvement.""

So, if the above is true, that the boyfriend and cab driver had no involvement, this bumps the possibility of a random abduction, imo.

Any similar cases in the area since Adrienne went missing? Maybe it's worthwhile to research and revisit other possible abductions prior to her going missing? Of course, there is the possibility that her killer has relocated, was traveling, or is incarcerated for another crime.

Is Adrienne's killer walking free? Has he killed anyone else since Adrienne?

Grasping at straws, I found this article from Sept of this year. It sounds similar to the circumstances under which Adrienne went missing, a young female walking alone after a party in the early morning hours. Of course with so many nut jobs out there, it doesn't necessarily mean this is the same person who killed Adrienne. But hopefully this guy has at least been checked out for any possible link to Adrienne's murder:

Tempe police: ASU student kidnapped, sexually abused
http://www.abc15.com/news/region-southeast-valley/tempe/attempted-kidnapping-reported-in-tempe

"Authorities say around 4:25 a.m., Tempe police were contacted by a clerk working at the Chevron gas station located near Broadway Road and McClintock Drive. The clerk told officers a young woman came into the store saying she had been kidnapped.

The 18-year-old victim told police she was walking home from a party when a man pulled her into a vehicle. The victim was driven to a nearby location and sexually abused. She was able to get away and contact police for help.

Tempe police say thanks to a witness, they have one person in custody."

Eta: more at this link, names person in custody:

Here's another one from April 2014:

"A woman was nearly kidnapped Wednesday afternoon in an Arizona State University parking lot in Tempe, university police said.

http://www.azcentral.com/story/news...oman-nearly-abducted-asu-parking-lot/7811069/

Eta: sigh, as always, incidents like this are endless...there are also some involving attempted abductions on kids, and while probably unrelated to Adrienne, we do know that sometimes perps assault both children and adults, going after the kids when seeking a weaker victim, as in Jessica Ridgeway's case when ARS attacked an adult jogger a few months earlier.

Hoping something breaks in Adrienne's case.

It's crazy that it looks like the case hasn't taken even the smallest step forward. They seem totally stuck on where to go next looking for Adrienne's killer. Really sad.

Interesting local cases there margarita25. No way this was a one off but they seem to know so little that it's hard to pick out anything that looks the same.

I don't know if this has been proposed already, but has Bryan Patrick Miller been considered as a possible suspect. I always wondered if he could've used his car to pick Adrienne up after her accident, while posing as a police officer. She seems to match his victim profile as well.

Adrienne was mentioned in this article from the Phoenix New Times;

and in the Bryan Patrick Miller thread in the SK forum.

Wow, thanks for posting!

From the article above that Bessie posted:

"Police undoubtedly will look at the case of Adrienne Salinas, the Tempe teenager whose partial remains were found in a wash in Apache Junction in 2013. Although the autopsy report was partially redacted, it seemed that her head was not among the remains recovered at the scene.

Although Phoenix's homicide investigators haven't started looking at possible connections, Crump tells us, "Everything is probably on the table," in regards to looking at previous crimes."

*I'm so glad to see a renewed discussion here in Adrienne's thread!

Question, this is going to sound weird, has a missing head ever been linked definitely to the result of scavenger activity, decomp, disarticulation, etc...in other words, other than purposeful dismemberment, is there any other way that a head can be disconnected from the body post-mortem? Hope this makes sense.

So sad that there has been no arrest. Just a very bizarre case. It seems you can get away with murder,
even with cameras etc. I had not seen that about her head being missing. Ugh. Her poor family.

Bump for Adrienne. How sad that her killer may go free... :(

New poster here with nothing to add other than I've read through all 8 of these case threads regarding AS over the past week and feel the need to bump it. She was such a lovely girl and it's a shame that there hasn't been any justice for her.

Half asleep thoughts:

Did this have anything to do with the wreck?

Why did she leave a couple times?

Maybe she wasn't the one who called the cab?

(Sorry half asleep)

Someone close to her knows something, or not (random abduction)?
