Here is the suspect's facebook, which is linked to several family members if you are interested. I guess no one ever thinks their children will kill them, but this woman was so very supportive of all of her children.

Edited to add -
I meant to include this local article which has a bit more detail: Arrest made in Whispering Pines double homicide

A 19-year-old Arizona man is behind bars this week after being charged five months after the fact with murdering his parents last October.

Hunter B. Stanfield is facing two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Chase J. Stanfield, 39, and Gail M. Stanfield, 50, according to a press release from the Gila County Sheriff's Office.

It is not immediately clear if he has entered a plea or retained an attorney to speak on his behalf.

On Oct. 17, 2022, deputies found the victims with gunshot wounds just before 11 a.m. inside a home in a subdivision north of Payson, which is about 90 miles northeast of Phoenix.

Authorities did not say in the release how they allegedly linked Hunter to the crime and they did not provide a possible motive. But Gila County Sheriff's Detective Jamie Garrett told Fox News Digital police arrested him this week after questioning him.

"We did interview Hunter on Tuesday for [approximately] an hour, and after that interview is when he was arrested for the crimes committed against his parents," Garrett told the outlet.

There were no signs of a struggle, Fox reports.

I believe that is a typo (red bold) - it should be Oct. 27, 2022.

Looks like they dismissed the charges in Payson Justice & transferred the case to Gila County Superior Court.

Can anyone find a Gila County Superior court records search online? The one I have above doesn't really give much info.

There's been a spate of cases involving young men from seemingly do-well middle-class families committing parricide: Halderson, Amato, Metzig, Guy... And now this one. I'm interested in what the common thread is.

Unfortunately, in this case, we have almost no details about the murder six months ago. Cause of death appears to be gunshot wounds, but that's all the detail. Odd.

I don't understand that, either. It's hard even to find something contemporaneous with the murders last year.
this also supposed to be one of the safest regions ..so how did a double murder get reported by a couple of websites ? we wouldnt know if they suspected him back then.. cause the first one to be asked is the son

There's deep-seated entitlement in the mix, too. And maybe helicopter-parent-ish. And they've involved ambushes, not heat of the moment. And then there's how callously the bodies are dealt with once-deceased.

I can't get over the interrogations of Halderson and Amato...I'm kind of weirdly fascinated about what makes these young men tick, nothing I can relate to in my universe. It's like they murder a whole family because they can't see themselves flipping hamburgers at Burger King.
