AZ AZ - James Daniels Jr, 42, from WY, moving friend w/refrig trk b/w Kingman & Wickenburg 21 Aug 2021

The VI found the truck and it had been impounded. I can understand the impound part. A vehicle left on the side of the road unattended will be towed at some point.

Someone saw a disoriented male and called highway patrol? Okay, I can understand that part, too.

But as someone else noted above, where is the friend in all this? The friend that JD was helping to move?

Because if the friend went to Wickenburg to get the tire fixed, that friend would need some way to let JD know what was going on.

Did they have cell phones?

ADMIN NOTE:

Just to let you know that GonzoGirl has applied for verification and we are just waiting on some info back. There was a bit of a glitch in the email communication that slowed things down a smidge. Hopefully we will have them verified very shortly and they will be back sharing any info they can regarding James' disappearance.

The fact the truck had no plates is a pretty sure fire reason it would have been impounded.

Do we have a middle name for James?

I doubt this link will work directly, but there are numerous people named James Daniels in AZ arrest records. I'm not seeing any recent 2021 cases but don't know how quickly their records get updated.

Oh, this looks promising...this guy is listed as James Daniels II (which I imagine is a different way of saying James Daniels Jr.) , and he is listed as being born in June 1979 which would make him 42 years old now.

This James Daniels II had some charges brought against him in Maricopa County Superior Court back in October 2019 and it looks like a warrant was issued for his arrest. I am wondering if perhaps the missing man in this case is the same person, and--if so--he fled from authorities because he was afraid they'd look him up and see he had an outstanding warrant.

If @GonzoGirl5 returns as a VI, which I sincerely hope they will, I would love to know if the missing man's approximate date of birth (June 1979) lines up with the individual whose records I see on the Arizona courts site. If so, at least it would allow us to consider at least one non-nefarious explanation for his disappearance.

Edited to add: I found additional details about this case. It looks like there's a bench warrant out for this person, and the charges were a "dangerous drug violation" and a "drug paraphernalia violation" (see second screenshot from the azcourtdocs.gov website).

<modsnip: No images unless we know 100% it is the same person>

Daniels was only traveling through Arizona. He lives in Wyoming. He also has a very different face from the man in the mugshot, imo

Respectfully, anyone—regardless of their state of residence—could, hypothetically, be arrested in any other state. If we had some reason to think he had never, in his previous years, been in Arizona at all, though, I would agree that would rule out the guy with the bench warrant being the same as our missing person here.

Also, I am not sure what mugshot you are referring to; I did not see one for the man with the bench warrant. If you found one, could you share here?

All content above is strictly IMO/MOO, personal conjecture and speculation, unless otherwise stated!

If you google Arizona inmate search, enter the last name and first initial, and click on inactive the first name to pop up is James Daniels, who had similar infractions as the one you mentioned. There is a photo of him there.

So -- we really don't know what was in the 2007 International refrigerated box when the trip started, we don't know where that truck was found, we really don't know when, we don't know who reported the empty truck & wandering man or when, we don't know where the truck is now, we don't know when the dog was last seen, we don't know when that truck lost the license plate, we don't know a whole lot.

Lots of who, what, when, where, and why missing in this one.

Impatiently awaiting info, as I'm sure our Gonzogirl is as well.

jmho ymmv lrr

It is a common name, and I do not believe that is the same guy as the one charged in 2017 who currently has a bench warrant out for his arrest in AZ. The charges are somewhat similar in nature but the guy I was referring to doesn’t have the AA charge like the man in the mugshot.

Welcome @GonzoGirl5 , I'm sorry your friend is missing. You had said that you found the truck, I'm curious as the others as to where the truck was found and if his friends things were in it? Also, maybe check local dog pounds to see if the dog was found and dropped there. Did he know this friend long? He seems like a nice guy to travel that like that to help his friend out. I would think he would be helping in the search too. IMO
Hi. Sorry for the absence. I've been waiting to be verified. I should be good soon I would think. Anyway, I found the truck through the AZDOT after having exchanged a few emails etc. They gave me the location contact info and then added another number stating it had been involved in a collision. I called the number of the yard it had been towed to Kingman AZ. Which is odd because when I called the other number provided to me it was the Criminal investigation unit. So. I continued my path of numbers etc. This number led me to the State Trooper who arrived on scene at the 164 mile marker. 30 miles south of the then still abandoned trailer. On hwy 93.
I am sorry if I am not doing this the appropriate way. My friend of 25 years James Daniels Jr age 42, has been missing since August 21st. Last seen/ known location was on Hwy 93 in Arizona between Kingman and Wickenburg. He was driving a 28' refrigerated truck with no license plates. He had flown from his current place of residence Wyoming to Lake Tahoe where we are from to help a friend of his move to Mississippi. Somewhere on Hwy 93 his friend who was driving a pickup truck with trailer in tow got a flat tire; approx mile marker 141. This gentleman dropped the trailer form his truck, left his dog with my friend James Daniels (JD) or (Mojo) with the 28' truck, the trailer and his dog. It was sunset. The friend arrived in Wickenburg too late to get any service so according to him waited until morning. He then drove back to the location he left my friend at to find No truck, No JD and no Dog. This is all his story mind you. From him to me. There is much more to the story like what this person did in the following days after having "lost" my friend, his dog and his truck. But I do not know that I need to just lay it all out. My whole point is that he is missing and not a single person he knows has heard from him. He was a very social person, a little odd but in a sort of good way. I do not know if I should post a picture or description of him or what. I just want to find my friend. Alive or not. I want to find him because he deserves to be found. It is not like him to just disappear. At all. He does not care about the casinos and Vegas so he is not there. It does not make sense why they were on hwy 93 in the first place seeing as how they were driving from California to Mississippi. Hwy 93 heads south directly away from the interstate that would have taken them straight to Mississippi. There are many other things that just do not make sense. I need help. I need help knowing what to do to find him. A missing persons report has been made in Wyoming as well as Arizona. If need be I can furnish those numbers etc. Just hoping someone out there can help me.

Thank you so much for all your help. As well to the community here. I just really want to find my friend at this point dead or alive so that myself, all of his friends can have some peace of mind and closure. It has been one month now to the day and I am just sick to my stomach with the lack of action by law enforcement.

Where was the truck? That's a big step!

Did Mr. Daniels have experience driving a semi? Not like driving a car or a pick-up. I'm licensed up to 26,000 pounds & am not interested in trying a big rig![/QUOTE. He did not have experience driving a semi but I believe this was an automatic. It was a 2007 International 28'. Not too big.
