I am surprised, I was under the understanding that Don N. was a cousin of the bio mom, not his Grandpa, where did you see he is Grandpa? I am curious about it only because Don had stated he did not know he was related until later. I can see this with a cousin, but not with a Grandpa.... Thank you for any link or info....
Investigators believe the boy's body was likely left outside the 5-mile radius crews originally searched, and recent flash flood waters moved his body down to the wash.

Today, the remains of a tiny child were found in a wash, just two miles from the campsite. While autopsy results are pending, the body is believed to be that of the little barefoot toddler, Sylar Newton. A wash consists of dry riverbeds, creek beds, until it rainsthen theyre called a wash.
i am pretty sure the only time Don left off searching was to go search for little Emmet.
I just don't think it's possible that he wandered away. It would be a truly shocking coincidence if he did wander that far.
If it is foul play, how did he get there? Could someone have hiked from the tent all the way to the location he was found? It sounds like the terrain is far too rough for that, especially at night.
So very sad. RIP Syler.

Authorities said it appeared someone tried to hide the remains, which ended up in the wash after recent flash flooding.
"Somebody didn't want us to find him," sheriff's Capt. David Rhodes said.
my bold above....
I completely agree! Chaps mine too! Reminds me of Susan Smith who said a black man hijacked her car with Alex and Michael still in it...when in fact she rolled them in their car seats into a lake at night.
