A mother koala bear hit and badly injured by a car near Brisbane, Australia had to undergo life-saving surgery at the Australia Zoo Wildlife hospital. During the entire surgery, her baby clung to her side.

Now staff say Lizzy, the mother, and her baby Phantom are recovering well. The hospital has treated more than 58,000 wildlife patients to date.

    Someone's knitted little Phantom a pouch. :)

Or, I have a tiny suspicion that may have been borrowed from a stock the wildlife hospital keeps for baby kangeroos. I wonder if they have volunteer pouch knitters? I know we have a thread here on WS about an elderly man who knits coats for baby penguins.
