This thought has bothered me for ages and I see a poster brought it up the other day. IIRC there wasn't much discussion on it, perhaps everyone was over on the NY escapees thread.

In the very beginning of this BK case, BK was home with a male friend drinking
/doing drugs all night while NG was out with a male friend that had allegedly lived with BK and NG for a while and was at one time suspected to be a drug dealer (I am very carefully wording this as to not be accusatory to any one).

BK posted a picture of she and said male on cell phone in a hug position. As jealous as we have heard NG was of her, I am sure this set his temper off.

After NG arrived home, I have heard numerous stories as to what happened. But IIRC, NG did go upstairs to where BK was. It is after that the story gains legs and goes in different directions.

My point is that nothing is mentioned about all this that happened prior to NG arriving home. What did he do immediately upon walking in the door? NG had time to go upstairs, have a few words with BK, a few punches, and/or put her in the tub if she wasn't in it. A very few minutes is all it would take.

From what I've read, this case starts when NG's male friend takes the cable guy to the master bedroom and the friend discovers BK in the tub. To me, the start of this story is what I posted above. Is there a reason LE is leaving the precursor out? TIA.

From my own personal experience, if you have ever let someone you are in a relationship with use your debit and/or charge card you will come up empty when you visit the financial fraud department of your local LE.
It happened to me and all I could do was change my account numbers completely.
Not right but that's what happens. At least to the general public.
I will wait to hear the charges NG faces. Sure BK should have known better. Her family and friends should have stepped up a lot more.
But what we have now is not negotiable as far as BK's life is concerned.
    May justice prevail:moo:

In all honesty, Whitney was supporting them both. It's not like BK had a job, and was using her hard won money to buy him stuff.

This is sort of what I keep coming back to in defense of Nick actually. Whitney took him in and thought of him as a son as far as we know. We do not know why. We do not know the details of how it happened. We just know it did.

I wonder what she would think of all of this and how she would now feel about how he is being treated by the Brown family whom Whitney seemed to have despised.

ETA: For all we know, Whitney asked BK to help Nick with the inheritance she would be given.

BBM - I don't know about in the US (likely the same), but in Canada it is illegal to use someone else's debit card when they are not present and your name is not on the account. My son could not make it to the bank during banking hours to deposit a cheque, therefore he signed it and gave it to me, and off to the bank I went. I went to a teller and when she saw my son's name of the account, she asked what my name was and if I had ID. When I explained it was my son's account and he couldn't make it into the bank during banking hours, she said she was sorry but it was illegal for me to be using my son's card regardless. She took his card and my son had to go to the bank to get his card back days later. All I wanted to do was deposit his cheque, not withdrawals. Even at an ATM it's illegal. As you said, the bank will not be any wiser. But if the bank was wiser, one could be in big trouble. Which may just be the case here if NG was doing such withdrawals. MOO.

I don't think it is the same here in the US. I deposit checks for my adult daughter quite often. Her work checks come to our address sometimes and I deposit them for her because she lives an hour away. The bank knows I am her Mom, and not her, but if I am DEPOSITING, it is legal. But I could not withdraw money, only deposit it.

Another way some banks will handle it in the USA is to have the person depositing it write "For Deposit Only" under the signature of the owner of the check on the back.

Considering that BK was in a coma, if Nick used her online access or ATM and he wasn't on the account, the bank will have to return the funds to her account. He may not be criminally charged since they may not be able to prove it was him who made the transfers, but it can most definitely be proven it was NOT Bobbi Kristina and if no one else was authorized then the bank is liable to allowing access to the funds by an unauthorized user.

If you give access to a person via PIN number or password, it's not up to the bank to know that it's not you making the transfers. When a card is lost, you must report it within a certain period of time, or you are liable for whatever money has been taken. The bank expects that your PIN number and password will be kept secure. Just now, I made an online transfer from an account that my husband has into an account that my son uses. My husband is happy for me to take care of the banking business even though I am not on the account. If he decides that he doesn't want me doing it anymore, he can change the password but he has no recourse to the bank for any transfers he has allowed me to make. If BK was allowing NG to use her password and PIN, the bank is not going to take responsibility for whatever money he obtained after she was in a coma.

Agreed, but he will have to prove that she provided him the info...and more importantly, that she did so willingly and not under duress.

He knows he is in biiiiig trouble.

When you allow someone to use your pin# and they have a verified history of doing so, all you can do is change your account numbers.
Had a friend that I gave my info to when I was recovering from illness several years ago so they could do my shopping for me.
Obviously their pic is going to be recorded at stores, atms, etc.
A few months later a couple hundred dollars was withdrawn from that account. Friend denied doing it. Bank video showed they did. I went to LE about it and they said once you have allowed it you really can't prosecute and to cancel the cards and get new account/routing numbers.
Yes they did good deeds for me and then did something wrong. I forgot to get the extra card back. We don't associate anymore, but all is forgiven.
With BK and NG going so far as to falsely present themselves as a married couple shows just how far NG had inserted himself into her financial world.
    jmho
And may the road rise up to greet this young woman as she slips from this world:rose:

Quite interesting that they arranged to surreptitiously fly BK to Chicago for a consult/ specialized second opinion. That explains the abrupt move to hospice.

I suspect her condition hasn't changed substantially in months, and this Chicago consult was necessary as an intermediate step to deciding where she would be moved to after the rehab hospital. I'm very glad BB was open to both the additional consult, and to hospice care for her, once it was again advised that any improvement was unrealistic.

He's done everything humanly possible for her. I hope in his heart that is a small comfort for him. I'm so glad to see both sides of the family come together, too.

I was glad to see over the weekend, Pat Houston and Tina Brown hugged it out. That was good for BK. Finally... I hope it lasts for BK's sake.
