Brian Williams Lied About Being Shot Down in Iraq?

Lester Holt is a class act. I'm pleased that he will be anchoring NBC Nightly News.

Exactly, BetteDavisEyes!!! I feel "safe" watching the news when he is anchoring!

Interesting that NBC made this announcement while Lester Holt's been on vacation. Savannah Guthrie has filled in for LH this week. She does a decent job as an anchor projecting a more mature and sophisticated persona than on the Today Show.

I saw snippets of the interview Matt Lauer did with Brian Williams. Did he appear contrite to you? What did you think?

I thought BW made excuses for and attempted to justify the lies. It's all about him and his ego. :moo:

That is the impression that I got. He was all "shucks" like, no mea culpa, and his huge ego was apparent. I used to find him like able, beautifully dressed, witty, smart and enjoyed watching him on Letterman and his bits on Fallon. What a huge fall from grace.

I noticed Nancy Sneiderman MD is not back on the air after she was outed for not adhering to protocol after her trip to Africa and potential exposure to Ebola. What is with these news people where mores? Don't apply to them?

RSBM......

I agree about his guest appearances on Fallon, Daily Show, etc. I watched him a few times but always felt uneasy....I guess he seemed to be enjoying the attention just a bit too much. He was always witty but his ego definitely took over. I couldn't take him seriously after that.....the lines had been blurred I guess. Too bad because he was really good at reporting the news.

Anyway here's an article on BW in the New York Post today.....he has a long way to go if he thinks all has been forgiven!

"Brian Williams is Still a Liar and Needs to Get Off Our TV's"

Here's a link to the interview if anyone would like to view it. I only watched 3 or 4 minutes and was annoyed...."it all came from a bad place....blah blah blah....." He wants us to believe the lying was out of his control. BS!

If he would have just said that he lied to make himself look better I would probably have been sympathetic, but maybe not. I don't find him quite so likeable anymore, that's for sure.

Go Lester!

I just viewed then whole video.....imo he comes off as pious and sanctimonious. I'm not buying what he's selling.....fake, fake, fake.

I really used to like the guy, too.....

i remember the first time i saw him back - on MSNBC - i switched the channel and then sent an email to them saying there is no point in watching news i can't trust
to me, poor ethics is something that a suspension can't "fix"
