San Diego Jane Doe 2024 Namus

Authorities Seek Help Identifying 'Jane Doe' Killed by Coaster Train Last Summer

Trying to read one of the tattoos. It looks like vertical words reading something like:
"Epopt", "Troy," "Happy," "Nick," "Kalei". Troy, Happy, and Nick are the clearest.
Also, I find this entire story confusing. Did the train hit the person, ending their life? Or was the person already deceased on the tracks and the train was able to stop in time before hitting her?

FWIW, those are both pretty expensive clothing brands, by my standards. Granted they could have been obtained as gifts, or somewhere like Nordstrom Rack, etc, but just for example, imo that bra looks like a version of the Comete model, which is $120. Simone Pérèle | Comete Molded Full Cup - Black
You're right. The Josie Natori top that this Doe was wearing is expensive too. $300+, I believe.

Good eye on making out those names! The way they are displayed is an interesting design choice. I was looking at the other tattoos she has and one looks to be a mermaid? I'm not sure what the other one with the lines is supposed to be. I know the other two are a fish and an "Om" symbol. I hope a tattoo artist out there will be able to recognize the ink.
Those are great questions you bring up about the circumstances of her death. I wish it were a little more clear.

I believe that the engineer noticed a body on the tracks in front of them, and notified LE. I do not believe they were hit.

Good job on what the letters spell out. One thing I wanted to add about the 2nd and 3rd words as you read them down... if the 2nd one is Troy, I'm thinking the 3rd one could be harpy, because that "P" looking "R" are the same if you read the middle row across.

As for the train... it actually struck her so she was apparently laying on the tracks. So yes, being hit by the train ended her life. They were unable to save her as the article says she died at the scene.

She was struck near the Carlsbad Boulevard bridge at 7:30 p.m. by a northbound Coaster commuter train

As for this tatt of hers... I spun it to see if I could make something out of it if I viewed it from different angles. I see a face with some sort of hat/headdress/whatever on its head.
Blue is near the ear, red lines are (from top to bottom) eyes, nose, mouth, chin. The long vertical line just to the right of the ear could be sideburns or hair of some sort.

I could be very wrong about that though, as I see things that aren't there in things like clouds, floor tiles, woodgrain, etc. LOL

I find it a mismatch in my head that her clothing could be such expensive brands, yet the tattoo of letters sure looks jail/home inked. It's definitely not a professional job. Are the tatts old from a previous "life", and she had since turned herself around? (better life, money, etc.) I just find very expensive clothing, and non-professional tatts a miss-match IMO. Yet there they are. JMO

I just spent some time staring at this tattoo of hers. I see a woman's body, but not sure what's around it. Bear with me as I describe what I see. Original tatt on the bottom for reference, drawn up one on top (Duh. LOL). Disclaimer - I watch a lot of horror movies. lol

Red arrow is pointing to her hand, complete with fingers, thumb on top, slender wrist, arm, and shoulder.

Yellow arrows point to her breast(s?). I also see the curve of her left hip. I can't figure out what that object is below her hip. It looks like a thread puller to me (see bottom). Red circle looks like either a mermaid tail, or a butterfly facing away from the woman. Blue arrows from top to bottom I see dark hair, eyes (one across horizontally from the one I'm pointing to) and mouth. The green arrow points to wings. It doesn't look like an angel to me. More a spirit. Get to that in a minute. The purple arrow points to the head of the spirit around the eye area. As for the lime green arrows (on either side of the red arrow) that looks like tattered clothing that a spirit wears. Or, the upper one could be part of the wings. See the bottom of this post for what I mean by tattered spirit clothing.

So, to me, it looks like a nude woman is being carried away by a spirit.

First column looks like “lilly”

Sometimes if you get really lucky and live in a wealthy area, you can get luxury secondhand clothing at a thrift store. I've had it happen a few times myself.

That's an excellent point. I did think of that since I don't buy much new myself. In fact, I bought an Eileen Fisher long coat ($300 new) for $2. So it's either that, or she's turned herself around. But, if she turned herself around, I'd think people would have come forward by now from her life. Especially with those tattoos of hers. They aren't exactly seen on every other person you pass on the street. I'd think she'd have been identified by now if that was the case.
