That appears to be correct for other countries but not here. The major opposition to such a policy, apparently, is coming from the police unions. Please, provide a link supporting your opinion.Drug testing is a prerequisite for LE employment. And they also give their DNA sample , in most departments.
I know TX DPS has a pre employment drug test for all employees as well as Dallas PD. I know AZ DPS does too as my nephew has been accepted into their state trooper training program. That appears to be correct for other countries but not here. Ok....back after a hiatus. Forgive me if the answer has been posted. Has anyone determined JD’s employment history from 79-86? Have any photos from the mid to late 70’s been released apart from the newspaper little league pic? Thank you!!

Since the personnel records of bad cops are rarely provided to new employers, DeAngelo’s, missing years easily may have been spent as a cop working for another police department. <modsnip>"Much remains unknown about Joseph DeAngelo’s time on the force between 1973 and 1979, when he worked for police departments in surrounding counties. The Exeter Police Department in Tulare County has virtually no records from the time DeAngelo, now 72, reportedly worked there. The Auburn Police Department in Placer County kept better track of DeAngelo, who was fired in 1979 for shoplifting a hammer and dog repellent in Citrus Heights, where authorities found DeAngelo living and arrested him last month. Auburn’s police chief recently told The Sacramento Bee the department would be reevaluating unsolved crimes committed in the city during the time DeAngelo was an unremarkable officer there."

He supposedly told the exotic dancer he had been a cop in the Bay area. It seems we only know of his time on the Exeter and Auburn forces because of archived news articles.Since the personnel records of bad cops are rarely provided to new employers, DeAngelo’s, missing years easily may have been spent as a cop working for another police department. <modsnip>
