The Sentinel article says she was lured back to a "lavish" hotel in Santa Cruz County, which is not necessarily Santa Cruz proper. People have different definitions of "lavish", but I can think of at least two very nice ones in the county. I won't name them because they may not have had anything to do with a prostitution sting. :

I know that the 2 people charged with Jaren Lockhart's murder communicated via email while the male was in LE custody. He was in federal custody though for a different charge, so I'm not sure if that made a difference.
