'Glee' Actor Mark Salling Indicted for Possessing Child *advertiser censored*

Actor Mark Salling was charged Friday with receiving and possessing child *advertiser censored*, following an investigation by the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Investigators seized a laptop, hard drive and USB flash drive from Salling's home following his arrest on Dec. 29. Investigators claim they contained thousands of pictures and videos depicting child *advertiser censored*.

The indictment claims Salling had at least one photo and video of "a prepubescent minor and a minor who had not attained 12 years of age." The title of one of the videos suggests the child was 5 years old.

In the meantime, the charges against the actor center on a still image and three videos of child *advertiser censored* depicting young girls, the statement said. The two charges each carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison.

He was photographed leaving a Chase bank Thursday with a $100,000 check made out to the court clerk, which he used to make bail

Prosecutors initially sought to have Salling held without bail, but reached an agreement with the actor after his attorney Alan Eisner surrendered his client's passport during Friday's proceedings.

Salling's internet-connected devices must now be approved by federal authorities before he can use them, he will have to wear a location monitoring bracelet at all time and he will be forced to submit to drug testing as conditions of his release.

Salling was arrested by Los Angeles police in December after federal agents seized a laptop, hard drive and flash drive they say contained images and videos depicting child *advertiser censored*.

He still faces state charges for that arrest, and was released shortly after on $20,000 bail.

It was revealed soon after that a search of Salling's computer allegedly yielded pornographic images depicting children under the age of 10.

Authorities said that in the end they found more than a thousand images depicting children in sexual situations.

Lt. Andrea Grossman, of the LAPD, described some of the lewd images depicting grade school-aged girls as 'disturbing,' reported the New York Daily News at the time.

That's shocking! Did not anticipate him killing himself (I assume it will determined to be suicide since he was otherwise young and healthy).

He supposedly was going to be sentenced up to 7 yrs under the plea deal (that's what I read somewhere). I also read he'd also have to register as a sex offender for life and pay $50K to each victim.

TMZ is saying Salling died by suicide, was found hanging from a tree near a ball field close to his home.

"police received a call to do a "welfare check" on Salling and somehow that led them to the baseball field where his body was found. We're told Salling had been dead for some time."

TMZ also broke a story last August that Salling cut his wrists, attempting suicide then, but Salling's attorney denied that at the time.

as sad and sickening as this is I want to know where this man obtained 100K in pics and videos of these poor victims! Why didnt the cops work with him to get the to the top of this food chain? How are they ever going to combat this horrendous crime if all they do is bust this guy and he gets 4 years? I would hope they would keep quite and put Salling to work then cut him a deal? Im just puzzled and saddened. And another thing I just never understood, what is even the least bit attractive about a child? I just do not get it. Oh, and all these pedo's better be glad im not the judge, they either work at busting the people responsible for creating this smut or they get 100 years and their member cut off! IMO this is the only way to fight this crime, just saying
