Found Deceased CA - Jennifer Evert, 34, Crescent City, 21 May 2013

I also wonder if there are any lakes that are near the road on her path. Could she have just driven off into one? If she was taking any pills, she could have become groggy and never made it to her planned spot. I feel so bad talking to a husband about his missing wife like this!!! I know it's necessary in order to offer help, but I feel like I'm saying hurtful things. It makes me sad.

I try really hard not to get personal here, but Jenn reminds me so much of myself. When I had my "plan" to commit suicide, I wanted to do it at the beach (hence my name Surfie). I love it there. My plan consisted of parking my truck on the seawall of Galveston, leaving my purse and keys in it, leaving a note saying where to find the truck. BUT, I was going to walk down to the ferry to take it across to Bolivar Peninsula as a passenger (it's free) and walk further to the most remote beach. I would then walk out into the water and shoot myself hoping that the sharks would get to me first before anyone.

Sorry to be so graphic. :(

Oh, Surfie (((((hugs))))

Ive been thinking about Jenn all day.

You guys are doin awesome..as usual.

Im thinking we"ll have a better chance of finding Jennifer with the right resources. I understand there is a lack of funds and alot of area to search. We need to get help. We need the media.
Ive emailed KDRV and asked them to please follow up on Jennifers case. KDRV is one of the first..and few MSM reports regarding Jenn. Perhaps if a few more of us contacted them, they might get the word out there for us.
If more folks are aware of Jennifer being missing...perhaps we"ll get some search parties going, maybe some SAR dogs...or a pilot!

Im just goin with the whole..."squeeky wheel/grease thing".

I did not see all the posts up here...sorry I missed them.
I knew when I got together with Jennifer that I would always be second to her late husband. I accepted that, and even made sure she wore his wedding ring on her right hand when we were married. His ashes still sit on my mantle. He was a good friend of mine many years ago. To answer some other questions, the phone is dead, and no pings yet. There are no SARS dogs here, and the teams will not even deploy until we narrow the search area. I believe she is in (or close to) the truck. If we find it, we find Jenn. I also believe she bought the soda to swallow the pills. 199 has been covered thoroughly, and this Casino area is north of that cutoff. She was definately seen going North. All hotels have come up empty for a range of 60 miles. we have checked under alternative names and sent pictures to the clerks. She is very beautiful, and if you have ever met her, you will not forget her. I also think her intent was to make sure I did not find her. She may have done too good of a job hiding. She knows me...she knew I would search through hell and highwater for her right away. The last week we were together, she was happier than ever. I cannot wrap my head around any of this. Thanks for the comments, and please be patient with me. My phone sucks, and it takes me forever to type out these messages...

All of the things you have said you did to make her comfortable in her pain are incredible! I feel like all suicide does is pass the pain you can't handle to someone else you love... as evidenced by her and her ex. That pain she carried will possibly now be passed to you and her kids, if things turn out the way she said they would. I hope that when the dust settles, you find a way to take care of yourself, as you did her. I pray her children find strength and happiness in life, despite the pain they will possibly be handed. This has got to be very difficult and my heart absolutely goes out to you.

Okay, I am just going to throw this out there....are there any boat launches within the area that she could have made it to on the amount of fuel in her vehicle?
I live on a river and have a boat launch on my property. If anyone ever drove down it without stopping, there is no way anyone would find the vehicle once it sank.

My prayers are with Jennifer and her loved ones!

It is hard to fathom when a person and a vehicle vanish, especially without much money. I assume it has been checked that she has not taken any cash since or had access to a large stash of cash? I can only think of the car going off the road someplace, partly due to the cases we have had here like that, including the one just this week, Holly in NC while Terrilynn and her car remain missing in LA as well as of course Gail Palmgren. Both Holly and Gail were found with their vehicles, way down the sides of mountains and both had reason to be upset and possibly distracted, as Jennifer also was. Police have been searching for Terrilynn's car in the water for months now, to no avail as yet.

Otherwise her vehicle should have been spotted by someone, it seems. Has it been checked to be sure it has not been ticketed at all? On Dateline tonight, a car was ticketed several times before finally being checked, at which time police found it to belong to a missing woman, who was found in the trunk. Another case here in ABQ where I am, a missing woman's car was ticketed for almost a week and she was dead in the driver's seat the whole time.

There are. There are actually a lot of rivers here, and the ocean. I don't know where all the boat launches are, but IIRC, someone drove off the one in Smith River a couple years back and people were pretty quick to catch on.

Has anybody driven up and down low divide and rowdy creek?

Hey folks. Yeah we have considered the boat launches. We are in the middle of charter season, and our area has not been dredged since the tsunami two years ago. The harbors are too shallow to hide a car for long. The one thing about our area is that we have people get lost all the time who are never found...and they want to be found. I had to butcher KIEM on facebook before they would run the article on the news, and it took two weeks almost. We need to get this story back in the media. Any contacts or ideas? If I can get one national outlet to pick this up, the locals will fight to have the story. We just need as many eyes on this as possible. I miss her so much folks. I just want to know. I cannot imagine carrying this pain for years. The vigil went well, I finally got to cry for a bit. You have no idea how much I love this woman. She is my second half.

I'm going to post this again because I think the questions were important & it would be a good idea imo. Also I saw a post about someone took pictures at dead lake where they searched and saw burnout marks on top of the boat dock (your not supposed to drive on top of the dock, you drive beside it to launch a boat..). People way back when dumped cars in there. Before they cleaned it up they pulled many in the tens of cars out of there (inside the dark murky lake). I'll post that picture that I saw on that web sight. Someone with a boat should sonar it perhaps? Anyhow heres my previous questions and ideas.

Questions.. There is a video from the gas station. Why not put it or them on youtube??then put that link on all these places that are trying to help. Maybe the T.V. Stations could put them on the news too. Videos can be very handy. Someone that may have been in the exact area may have been driving behind her to see which roads may have been turned down. Did the video for %100 sure catch her turning north on 101&they have cameras pointing @ the highway??That video should be posted for the public too. It's crucial to post those and ask for help from the public. What exact time to the minute were the cops called??They should have been able to triangle her last ping when it last pinged.Cannot you find out where and exact time this was??this should not take weeks. I found the pics on the facebooks of the Tahoe. It also has a sticker of what looks like maybe an african flag in the very back window above the tailgate (2nd photo)which might be helpful for id purposes. Hope I can post these pics I am not great with things like posting these things. Hope its cool I put them up but there already out there on the public view anyways.

I'm so sorry for what you are going through. Your pain and helplessness is palpable in your heartfelt posts. I'm glad the vigil went well. As mentioned above, myself and several others have contacted several of your local news stations to try to generate more coverage for Jennifer, but don't y'all think we should try to contact Nancy Grace or someone like that? If we get enough people emailing her maybe she will help.
