Im really bummed because I thought DK had a solid alibi for being on the island.

they must have more. they have had 9 years to put this case together.

did they ever truly put the screws to DK? why not?

how is it they haven't come for him? no DNA matching him?

what about the knife????????????????????????????????????.....not good my friends.

keeping an open mind.

#McStay - Defense asks about a $5K check Blake wrote to Merritt. Pros objects stating not the right amount. Defense: APPROXIMATELY $5000. Both prosecutors looked at each other and smiled/chuckled.

#McStay - Judge sustains prosecution objection when defense asked Blake if she knew Dan Kavanaugh withdrew funds from the bank account. This was after she testified that only her and Mike McStay were on the account.

#McStay - Going back to the meeting in Kavanaugh's home when Kavanaugh and Merritt were arguing, defense says isn't it true that Merritt was angry that Dan got money from customers and wasn't giving to Chase to finish the jobs? Blake said she didn't know that.

#McStay - Did anyone show you the Paypal records and show you all the money that was coming in and who was taking the money out? Judge sustains prosecution objection.

#McStay - Cross exam continues of Joseph McStay's mother. Not sure we'll get to Mike today.

#McStay - Under cross examination Blake said she was not aware if Merritt receive a payment from the Saudi project.

Why would Mike leave the court room while his mother is on the stand?
Perhaps angry with her answers, continually not remembering etc, thinking she isn't helping the case.
MOO.

I think it's far more likely he became highly incensed how the defense was treating his mother who still is enduring so much pain and suffering from losing her son...his wife and her precious little grandsons.

I had to walk away from the cross examination of Blake as well.

While some on the outside seem to be enamored over the defense's style of cross examination it usually doesn't bode well with the jurors nor does it impress them based on my own experience as a juror on several criminal cases.

Especially with them knowing she was also a victim of the man on trial who is also accused of killing 4 of her family members. There is no need to be aggressive or snide with sympathetic witnesses.

Imo as the days go on the jury will grow weary of the aggressive defense tactic.

Anyone who has kept up with trials for very long knows it's very common for witnesses to not recall many events that happened many many years ago like this one.

That is why both sides provide transcripts to witnesses of prior statements in older cases like this one The only difference the prosecutor does it to be helpful while the defense does it to hoodwink the jury into thinking the witness is being deceptive. It's all smoke and mirrors for the defense.

Imo

#McStay - Michael McStay arrived with Merritt at the home on Feb. 13th. Michael went in the window on the back of the house (far right). He testifies Merritt wouldn't offer to help him, he had to hold the blinds away and try to crawl through at the same time.

#McStay - The X in the bottom left corner is where Michael McStay said Charles Merritt stood while Michael was trying to get in the window on the far right.

#McStay - Michael says he went in the house, doesn't remember if he went through every room. He and his kids began knocking on neighbors doors, no one had seen the family. Michael then says he can't remember if it was on the 13th that he went to neighbors.
