Circumstances of Recovery: At about 2:45 p.m., a family out rock hunting discovered the badly decomposed body of a fully-clothed woman near an embankment off Highway 67, 3.5 miles south of Poway Road in Lakeside, CA. After finding the body, the family drove home and called the police.
When deputies responded, they saw the woman was wrapped in a pink blanket and a quilt. She was wearing a blue shift-type dress and a red bikini. Signs of trauma were evident to detectives at the scene, but the nature of the wounds could not be determined until an autopsy was conducted. The autopsy revealed that the woman had been shot in the chest.
