    Getreu trial: Brother of victim testifies alleged serial killer murdered his sister in 1963

    "Alleged serial killer John Arthur Getreu was convicted of killing and raping a 15-year-old girl in Germany in 1964, a decade before the strangled bodies of two young women he is now accused of killing were found on Stanford University land, the brother of the murdered teenager testified on Tuesday."

    *Trial set to begin (Day 19) (for Janet’s case) (@ 9am PT) - CA – Janet Ann Taylor (21) (March 24, 1974, from La Honda; found March 25, 1974 in Stanford, Palo Alto) - *John Arthur Getreu (29 @ time of crime/74/now 76) charged (5/10/19) & arraigned (11/20/19) with 1 count of felony murder, enhanced GBI/torture, enhanced serious felony & enhanced special allegation prior acts. Plead not guilty. $10M bond.
    DNA submitted to Parabon Nanolabs-match.
    Trial began on 4/9/21 with jury selection again & ended 8/19/21. Trial began on 8/30/21. 12-member jury & 4 alternates.

    9/8/21 Wednesday, Trial Day 18: State witnesses: Evan David Williams, a pastor, said that Getreu killed his sister on June 9, 1963, his sister, Margaret Williams, was found on a field beaten about the face, strangled & raped. San Mateo County Sheriff Detective Gordon Currie. Getreu's first wife, Susan Cammarota. Kathi Stone, Cammarota's daughter. Defense evidence & review of jury instructions done. Trial continues on 9/9/21.

    CA - Leslie Marie Perlov (21) – Santa Clara County. Trial setting hearing on 10/27/21.

    John Arthur Getreu has been convicted of first-degree murder and a special allegation of infliction of great bodily injury:

    John Getreu found guilty of 1974 murder on Stanford University land

    "After a two-week trial and nearly 50 years of sorrow for the family of Janet Ann Taylor, John Getreu has been convicted of murdering the 21-year-old La Honda resident on Stanford University property."

    Sentencing hearing has been scheduled:

    You're very welcome, and thank you for providing daily updates on so many cases! Let me know if you ever need information for any other case. :)

    I'm glad that today's outcome provided some justice for Janet and her loved ones. Next step is getting some justice for Leslie as well. According to this ABC News article, her case will be tried next year.
