On 2/11/2005 at approx. 0500 hours the decedent was found unresponsive lying in the street at the 900 blk of Olympic Blvd. in Los Angeles. Transported to LAC/USC med center where he was pronounced dead. He is balding, age range between 45-60 years of age. He has is own teeth.

Lonnie Lee Fagg may be a possible match. The age, height, weight, date of death, and date of last contact are roughly consistent. The dentals may or may not be consistent. He is not on the list of rule-outs for the UID.

Edited to add: Eye color may or may not be consistent. Mr. Fagg's eyes are listed as blue. It's hard to tell what they are from his photo. The UID's eyes are recorded as hazel, which is used to refer to a range of mixed colors from green-gold to gold-brown.

Scroll down for the map showing the approximate address where the UID was found and Mr. Fagg's last known location. LACDOC gives the location of the UID as "the 900 blk of Olympic Blvd. in Los Angeles," likely the 900 block of West Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles. (East Olympic Boulevard has no 900 block.) I don't know what was at the UID site in 2005. Hotels and a movie theater were constructed there in 2007-2010 as part of L.A. LIVE. The UID and MP locations are about two miles apart in walking distance.

Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian male. Sandy brown hair, blue eyes. Fagg's hair was long on the sides and bald on top at the time of his disappearance. He is missing one upper front tooth, two upper teeth on the right side, and two bottom front teeth. He has a three- to four-inch scar across the base of his neck. Fagg may use the last name Harper.
Clothing/Jewelry Description: A size large red Kansas City jersey shirt, white pants, sneakers, socks, and a baseball cap with the words "Kansas City Chiefs" printed on it.

Details of Disappearance
Fagg traveled from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on a Greyhound bus to Los Angeles, California. He called a family member at approximately 2:45 a.m. on February 9, 2005 and said he was at 7th and Almeda in Los Angeles and needed a ride. He has never been heard from again. Fagg was carrying blue luggage and a white ice chest at the time of his disappearance. Few details are available in his case. Oklahoma City police are investigating.

I found the postmortem Los Angeles County coroner photo of the unidentified decedent at the Internet Archive. Profile view, no visible gore, but as usual please view with discretion.

I cannot tell if there is a facial resemblance between Lonnie Lee Fagg and the UID, but the hairline and length look to me like Mr. Fagg's hair as seen in his photo. The hair appears darker in color than Mr. Fagg's. That could be a lighting artifact or the result of contact with fluids.

I decided to submit the possible match between LACDOC # 2005-01280 / NamUs UP # 3094 and Lonnie Lee Fagg / NamUs MP # 1206. I sent it to investigator Daniel Machian at the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner.

Follow-up: Mr. Machian sent a reply within several days saying that this possible match was checked and discarded in 2008 because of discrepancies (not described) between MP and UID. He said he would recheck their files.

I asked again beginning of September if they had had a chance to review the comparison. No reply yet, but they're dealing with turnover because Los Angeles County just swore in its first new medical examiner/coroner in over two decades, and the facilities themselves are finishing a long renovation.

I'll ask once more at a later date and might also try an e-mail to the Oklahoma City/Oklahoma state or NamUs MP contact side. I should know better, but after seeing the matching hairstyle in the postmortem photo I'm having a little trouble letting this one go.
