Naomi was last seen in Weaverville CA on 1 March 2001 (one source says 11 March). She is described as being involved with drugs and having a transient lifestyle; at the time she vanished, she was staying at a remote property on Wildwood Road in the vicinity of Platina and Hayfork CA with her boyfriend JLJ and another man TAS. A fire at the property destroyed Naomi's pickup truck and two trailers. No remains were found there. (And apparently, no one alive either.) The non-boyfriend's body was subsequently found in the Trinity River at Junction City CA. He had been murdered; he died of blunt force trauma to his head. JLJ was traced to Alaska and questioned about this death and Naomi's disappearance, but he was not arrested for any California offenses. However, Alaska charged him as a felon in possession of a firearm.
There have been no charges filed in the murder of TAS or the disappearance of Naomi. She left seven children. She has been declared legally dead; it is believed by foul play. Dental X-rays are available for identification; DNA and fingerprints are not.
