CA CA - Rico Harris, 37, Former Harlem Globetrotter, Yolo County, 10 Oct 2014

Though not a habitue of the area, I am familiar with it. The Cache Creek Casino is some 18 miles south of the Cache Creek park where Rico's disappearance began. I do not recall any mention of it or its cameras being checked as part of the missing person investigation.

Thank you for responding Burblestein. I cant imagine how he could've wandered that far but it isn't out of the realm of possibilities that he could have caught a ride there or to other places in that area.

Cache Creek Casino is a destination casino. By that, I mean that because it is not close to any major population centers, it hosts busloads of gamblers brought in from the Bay Area, or gamesters who drive in. A pedestrian approaching the casino would be rather conspicuous.

My personal opinion is that Cache Creek got Rico. It's a deceptive stream. Although shallow enough to wade, it has a powerful flow and a stoney bottom that would offer quite an impact if fallen upon. To repeat the guess I made earlier, I believe Rico will be found downstream of that little dam in the park, held in by backwash towards the dam.

Re-watching Disappeared episode and this case is more bizarre every time I see this. Why were the soles out of his shoes? The "grandparents" that found his backpack, were they questioned? The investigator uses the term loosely here but grandparents can be of any age and still capable of crime/harm to others. I'm a grandparent but I'm 46 yrs young and not what most think when they hear "grandparents found the backpack". I understand the creek is dangerous but foul play still cannot be ruled out in this case until a body has been found, Rico is still a person and his family deserves to know. JMO

All of the oddities you have noted, SAMS, pale beside one pressing question. How does a giant disappear without being noticed?

BTW, if the grandparents were traced to Mendocino County, it's a safe assumption they were interviewed. I doubt LE just picked up Rico's cell phone with a simple, "Thank you".

If there was foul play, there is a world of suspects.

Marking my spot, and yes I agree with you @burblestein , how does a giant disappear without being noticed? BBM MOO

SAMS, I am about to repeat an observation that previously got me condemned as a racist. It is a matter of record that he is a different race from the predominant population in the locale from which he disappeared. That would make him that much more noticeable; however he wasn't noticed. It is one of the reasons I believe he died an accidental death, unobserved.

that would elude to him having not been hiding, staying or living in the area but it doesn't do much for the idea of foulplay.

While foul play cannot be ruled out, thus far there is no evidence of it.
so far there no evidence of anything outside of a missing person. Though when i posted i didn't mean foul play as much as untimely death

Foul play? Misadventure? Suicide? Natural causes? Indeed, too many possibilities.
Your descriptions of this area in CA are helpful so thank you. Of all those possibilities listed I see a Cache Creek drowning as most likely followed by possible hit and run (his body disposed of) near that bridge you described there being fast speed then a sharp turn. The more remote possibility I think is he is among the drug-addled homeless in that area since it appears Rico had returned to meth use. If he was indeed Bipolar and manic along with meth use, his judgment and behavior going without sleep would make him accident prone and impulsive. I find it sad no one has a Facebook or other online site for him but Websleuths tends to be quite thorough. Also I'm watching the Disappeared episode again. Can't help but wonder how his girlfriend Jennifer, whom he was moving to live with in Seattle, and his mom are doing now. This case made me think of other CA missing Christine Walters originally from WI) in Humboldt Co. and former IL resident Bryce Laspisa. Add substance abuse to solitary traveling and stressful experiences so many missing have in common.

Came back to add to my above post this group, to edit post, but unable to. There is a Facebook group (private) for Rico. Link below. His mom actively posts on her own profile but girlfriend appears not to, to have moved on.

Actually, there are several FB pages containing info on Rico. TOS precludes sharing my findings; however, they are minor ones, such as tattoos. Sammy has shared the most recent one with us above, but it's three years out of date.

I find myself wishing I could get over to Cache Creek and check the downriver side of that dam.
