I came across this missing teenager on namus that had no picture and little info. While digging around, I found an obituary, much more recent, of a Sallie Jo Simmons from CA, an hour and change away from where she was reported missing and about the same age:

Is it possible this is the same person? Has anyone ever come across people listed as missing on Namus who weren't missing?

I see they've done comparisons on her and I'm not sure how they'd do that with so little information.

Salli Jo went Missing in 1989. Placed in NAMUS on December 17, 2010.

The partial obituary (You need to pay for archive removal) gives Sallie's DOB/DOD as FEB 19, 1975 - AUG 26, 2009

I cannot find a DOB on NAMUS. Don't they usually have that? And would someone need to call the case contact, to ascertain if this might be a match?

Has anyone ever contacted the agency handling Sallie's case to see if she was the woman who the obituary was about? If so, surely they would have removed Sallie from NamUs. She was still there last time I checked.
