The final chapter of Charles Jackson's long criminal career may not have been written yet, even though he's been dead for three years and already has been tied to eight murders, a prosecutor said Monday.

Alameda County Senior Deputy District Attorney Rockne Harmon, a DNA expert who worked on the O.J. Simpson murder case, said it's possible that DNA evidence will tie Jackson to more homicides in the 1970s and 1980s.

Last week, DNA evidence linked Jackson, who died in Folsom prison in February 2002 at the age of 64 while serving time for the 1982 rape and murder of Joan Stewart in Oakland, to the April 22, 1978, murder of 11-year-old Cynthia Waxman of Oakland.

That was the seventh murder tied to Jackson by DNA evidence after his death. Harmon tied six other cases to Jackson just a month after his death.
