Dave Stevenson, a spokesman for the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office, said the remains of Tobias Kaiser have not been found. But based on information gathered by investigators, he said, arrest warrants were issued for Eric Todd Mehlmauer, 47, of Placerville and Ronald Anthony Garcia, 53, of Sacramento in connection with Kaiser’s death...

A third man, Brian Martin Daly, 31, was also arrested as part of the investigation, but the District Attorney’s Office has not charged him with any offense...

Kaiser, 48, was last seen Nov. 30, 2006, at his residence near the 7400 block of Perry Creek Road in Somerset. He reportedly was in the process of moving to Modesto.

Very little info released so far.

Kaiser was 5'9", 150 pounds, with graying brown hair and brown eyes. Tats include a Tasmanian devil with "Back Off" written underneath on his right shoulder, and "In Loving Memory Lenny" on his back.

May have been wearing a blue T-shirt, jeans, cowboy boots, gray and black zip-up jacket, and a leather "Harley-Davidson" ball cap.

The remains of a man missing more than eight years and whose suspected killer sits in jail awaiting trial for his murder have been found in Northern California.

El Dorado County District Attorney Vern Pierson says Tobias Kaiser's remains were unearthed last Friday.

Mehlmauer was arraigned on first-degree murder charges, and Garcia was arraigned on a charge of being an accessory after the fact. Both men are awaiting trial in El Dorado Superior Court with a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 14.

A complaint filed in El Dorado Superior Court alleges that Mehlmauer shot and killed Kaiser. It also alleges that Garcia knew of the crime, but concealed the information to help Mehlmauer avoid arrest...

Officials did not disclose the exact location where the remains were found.

Mehlmauer, 48, pleaded guilty Friday to voluntary manslaughter and admitted to using a firearm in commission of the crime, according to an El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office news release. After hearing victim impact statements from Kaiser’s family, El Dorado Superior Court Judge Kenneth Melikian sentenced Mehlmauer to 10 years in state prison...

After killing Kaiser, Mehlmauer and several accomplices put Kaiser’s body inside a metal tank, welded the tank shut and buried it on the rental property. Then they destroyed evidence of the killing, going as far as to replace floor tiles and wallboard in the room where the shooting took place...

Ronald Anthony Garcia... previously pleaded guilty to felony conspiracy and was to have been sentenced after Mehlmauer’s trial.

Mehlmauer is listed as an inmate with California DOC but Garcia is not, so I guess his sentencing is still pending.
