No trace of 19-year-old woman two weeks after she disappeared from Home Depot in Sacramento

Veta is 5’4” tall, weighs approximately 215 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair. She was last known to be wearing a brownish/orange striped flannel shirt, denim pants, a rainbow ring and a small crossbody bag

Veta Belford was last seen on October 17, 2020. Easter told Dateline that their father drove Veta to work at the Home Depot on Truxel Road in Sacramento, California for her shift that started at 2 p.m. When their mother drove to the store around 11:30 p.m. to pick her up, Veta was nowhere to be found.

Anyone who might have information about Veta’s whereabouts is asked to call the Sacramento Police Department at (916) 808-5471.

Easter said her mother was told that Veta had left the store earlier that afternoon. They later learned from the manager that she had been laid off from her job.

“What we don’t understand is why she didn’t call someone for a ride,” Easter said. “She just walked out of the parking lot and that was it. We don’t know where she would go or who she would meet. It doesn’t make sense.”

Veta’s mother filed a missing persons report with the Sacramento Police Department just after midnight on October 18, while family members and friends drove around the area looking for her.

I wish we knew why Veta was laid off - lack of work, rather than some cause on her part for example. Would she not want to tell her parents?

I hope she's found safe soon. This is very worrisome.

This is my big question. Was something going on at work that culminated in being let go? Or was it a sudden shock?

Here's a map of the area: Google Maps
There's a Worker's Compensation office just across Truxel RD. Could she have been headed that way?

Per the article, yes - she had her phone as well as her charger. But when the family tried calling it, it was turned off, which is unusual for her.

@CastlesBurning thanks for your reply. I had seen her mother post comments in the “new comments” section but couldn’t find the thread. I also went to safari and couldn’t find anything in MSM about this case. Will follow closely.

Belford's three sisters are taking to social media to plead for her safe return. The trio have been posting on several platforms, including TikTok, in order to get the message across a wide audience. According to one of the posts, Belford was last seen around 3:45 p.m. walking towards AT&T and Applebee's in the Natomas Marketplace area. She was wearing a brownish-orange flannel shirt, long denim pants and a small crossbody bag.

It sounds like word really needs to get around, if you could post the flyer in any local online groups you belong to?

Agree. Hopefully LE has video of her out and about in the area last seen to help locate her. Maybe she’s taking a time out with a friend? That’s my hope.

Poor girl, poor mom- wondering if Veta just started walking towards an area where she hoped to find another job, or even to meet up with any other former HD employees to commiserate about job loss? speculation.
