CAN Mother whose son was killed by CN Rail train sued for $500,000 in damages

    As I read the link, the mother isn't being sued personally, she is named as the trustee of her son's estate. So, in essence, the railroad is suing the dead man (not his mother).

    Still galling, but it may be a preemptive move to forestall a suit by the victim's estate.

    I mention this only because I was perplexed as to how the mother of a grown man could be held responsible under Canadian law for his actions.
