COLD CASE: Grisly murder of Bolton's Morris Conte remains unsolved

Morris Conte's killer has not been found.

"When Morris Conte, 45, of Bolton, disappeared, he had been living at home with his parents, getting ready to move into his “dream home.”

A general contractor who worked on custom homes, he had three daughters from a previous marriage and a young son with his common-law wife.

Conte, who attended elementary and high school in the community, had struggled with drug addiction in the past; but he’d recently “turned over a new leaf,” a source close to the family said.

And then he disappeared. His family reported him missing on May 21, 2010"

UPDATE.
Sept 27 2022

''Ontario Provincial Police have charged a person with first-degree murder in a 12-year-long investigation into the macabre death of an Ontario man.

It’s the second arrest – and the first since 2011 – tied to the killing of 45-year-old Morris Conte from Bolton, Ont.

His dismembered body was found in three different areas of central Ontario shortly after he was reported missing in May 2010.

Police in Orillia, Ont., say a 62-year-old from Woodbridge was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree murder.

Police say a $50,000 reward continues to be offered for information leading to the conviction of those responsible.

Police charged a man in July 2011 with accessory after the fact to murder and causing an indignity to a human body.''

''Tony Lucia was arrested in connection to the grisly cold case murder of Bolton's Morris Conte just months ago.
Given the circumstances, Conte's family might have thought he'd be in jail until the 62-year-old from Woodbridge faces trial.
That won't be the case according to Justice Leonard Ricchetti who, on Nov. 28, granted Lucia bail at $1 million.''

''Tony Lucia will stand trial for first-degree murder in the 2010 death of Morris Conte.

Justice Richard Schwarzl decided to commit Lucia to trial to face a first-degree murder charge rather than second-degree at the Orangeville Courthouse.

Lucia, a 63-year-old man from Woodbridge, Ont., was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in 2022, more than 12 years after Conte went missing.''
'The allegations against Tony Lucia have not been tested in court. His case will move to the Superior Court of Justice later this month.'
