''26-year-old Alyssa Turnbull of Nipigon, Ontario, hasn’t been seen since March 23, 2020. Since then, the OPP say they’ve conducted numerous searches, interviews and collected pieces of evidence, but Turnbull still hasn’t been found.

"Alyssa was a vibrant young woman who was close with her family. We believe there are people out there who know what happened to her,” said Detective Inspector Darryl Sigouin. She is described as 5’3”, 100 lbs, with shoulder length blonde hair and blue eyes. Police say she may have changed her hair colour to purple or red.

“I am hopeful that the reward offered today will encourage these people to come forward, so that we can bring this case to a conclusion and bring Alyssa home. It is our hope that the reward being announced today will help bring a resolution to Alyssa's family."

The OPP has now announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for her disappearance, or information resulting in locating her.

Anyone with any information related to the case is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).''

"Sometimes it's the smallest piece of information that has the biggest impact," he said. "Our intention at this point is to exhaust all leads in order to locate Alyssa."

Turnbull is described as being five feet, three inches tall and 100 pounds, with shoulder-length blond hair and blue eyes. OPP said she may have changed her hair colour to purple or red.

Men charged in Nipigon abduction
''In April this year, a heightened police presence occurred while officers combed over ground and waterways in what was believed to be a search for 26-year-old Thunder Bay resident Alyssa Turnbull.

Turnbull, who had been believed to be in the Nipigon area, has yet to be located. At the time, police dismissed rumours swirling in the town that officers had found a body or body parts.''

Alyssa Aunt Speaks out
''Alyssa is still missing despite social media conjecture.
We knew she was living in Nipigon but didn’t realize she was missing until someone messaged her older brother that she hadn’t been seen in 3 weeks ; that was Easter weekend. ''

''Her younger sister started messaging her but no response. She wasn’t responding to her parents as she may have felt they were trying to control her. Which they were - they wanted her to come home.''

...a concentrated search of the sewage treatment plant in Nipigon as they continue their investigation into the disappearance of Alyssa Turnbull.

The search at the sewage plant comes just three days after OPP announced a $50,000 reward ... However, Golding said the decision to check the plant was not the result of a tip.

"We're just trying to do a really thorough investigation...this was the next thing that we had been planning to address," he said. "No stone will be left unturned until we complete this investigation."

Turnbull family appeals for closure - TBNewsWatch.com
Jan 11, 2021 1:23 PM By: TbNewsWatch.com Staff

The family of a woman who went missing in Nipigon more than nine months ago is speaking out to renew calls for anyone with information to come forward.

Her disappearance has been the subject of a major investigation by Ontario Provincial Police, who stormed the community about 100 kilometres northeast of Thunder Bay in April, and continued investigations there as recently as November.

Several months later, however, the family still doesn’t have answers. Efforts of their own, such as putting up posters in Nipigon and Thunder Bay, have so far proven fruitless.

For the second time this year, Nipigon residents are noticing a stepped-up police presence in town. Provincial police said Monday they would be maintaining the presence following the arrests of two men accused in last week’s alleged abduction and beating of an unidentified man.

Wow, what a thread. Doesn't sound good for this gal unfortunately.
I wonder if the "tip" received about the sewage treatment plant came as a result of the "interrogation" techniques the brother used on the missing gal's ex.

Amateur opinion and speculation

OPP divers are in Nipigon on Thursday continuing the search for a missing 26-year-old woman.

The specific location the divers are searching wasn't provided, as an OPP spokesperson said doing so could compromise the integrity of the investigation.

However, the spokesperson confirmed the OPP search of the area around the Nipigon wastewater treatment plant has concluded, and the divers are searching a different location on Thursday.

Almost one year later, still no sign of missing woman Alyssa Turnbull - TBNewsWatch.com
The family of a woman who was last seen in Nipigon say they just want closure after she was reported missing almost a year ago and have received no answers.

[...]

Despite a year passing since Turnbull disappeared, DO [Alyssa's mother] said they aren’t any closer to locating her.

[...]

DO said she last spoke to her daughter a year ago over text message about the COVID-19 pandemic.

When text messages to her daughter stopped going through, DO said she started to get worried.

“I got her younger brother and sister to start texting her because if she is not going to talk to me she is definitely going to talk to them and she wasn’t answering them,” she said.

Shortly after that, DO said she received a call from a friend who was living in Nipigon at the time.

“He had called me and said something is wrong,” DO said, adding she immediately called OPP to report her daughter as missing after the phone call.

[...]

Another challenge the family has dealt with has been seeing rumours on social media about Turnbull’s disappearance. DO said she’s been devastated by some things she’s read online.

[...]

DO said she hopes with more renewed calls for information, someone who has not yet spoken to police will come forward.

[...]

“Knowing that your child is alone in the cold somewhere is haunting and horrifying every day.”

[...]

Any person with information regarding this investigation should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their local police service.

Almost one year later, still no sign of missing woman Alyssa Turnbull
''THUNDER BAY — The family of a woman who was last seen in Nipigon say they just want closure after she was reported missing almost a year ago and have received no answers.

Since then, police have received numerous tips, conducted massive searches in the small community roughly 100 kilometres east of Thunder bay and are also offering a $50,000 reward in an effort to locate 26-year-old Alyssa Turnbull.''

''Turnbull was last seen between March 23 and March 25 while she was living in Nipigon.
Otway said she last spoke to her daughter a year ago over text message about the COVID-19 pandemic.
When text messages to her daughter stopped going through, Otway said she started to get worried.
“I got her younger brother and sister to start texting her because if she is not going to talk to me she is definitely going to talk to them and she wasn’t answering them,” she said.

Shortly after that, Otway said she received a call from a friend who was living in Nipigon at the time.

“He had called me and said something is wrong,” Otway said, adding she immediately called OPP to report her daughter as missing after the phone call.

Although she tries to remain hopeful, Otway says she tries not to think about what might have happened to her daughter.''

''Otway says searching for her daughter is both emotionally and physically exhausting.

“It’s such a big country that we live in,” she said. “It seems like you’re looking for a needle in 10 million haystacks, it’s very frustrating.”

When it comes time to wrapping her searches, Otway says it never gets easier.

“Driving back this way to Thunder Bay is probably the hardest part for me because we are leaving without my daughter and that breaks my heart,” she said.

And whenever there’s a snowfall, it becomes even more challenging to conduct searches.''

“She was my twin daughter from the day she was born,” she said. “To be able to bring her home is my only wish and we just wish somebody would come forward and even just tell us where to start looking.”

More than anything, Otway says she misses her daughter.

“I just want her home,” she said. “Any parent that has a missing child no matter what they have been told, you always think they are going to show up one day and that’s really hard to have that in the mind.”

“Knowing that your child is alone in the cold somewhere is haunting and horrifying every day.”

Turnbull is described as standing five-foot-three, weighing about 100 pounds, with shoulder-length blonde hair and blue eyes. She may have changed her hair colour to purple or red.

Any person with information regarding this investigation should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their local police service.''
