''A 23-year-old woman is dead after being found shot in an underground garage in Toronto, police say.

Toronto police have identified the woman, the city's 42nd homicide victim this year, Daniella Mallia.

Police say they were called to 2265 Jane Street, north of Highway 401, around 1:05 p.m. on Thursday. Officers found Mallia suffering gunshot wounds in a garage.

She was declared dead at the scene.

Police say Mallia's death is an isolated incident. There are no details yet on a potential suspect or suspects.

Anyone with information, in particular dashcam footage, is asked to call investigators at 416-808-7400. They can also submit information anonymously via CrimeStoppers at 416-222-8477.''

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of a homicide investigation.
On Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 1:05 p.m., officers responded to a medical call at 2265 Jane Street.
It is reported that:

• police arrived and located a woman with gunshot wounds in the underground garage
• she was pronounced deceased at the scene

Homicide investigators took over the investigation.
The victim has been identified as Daniella Mallia, 23, of Toronto.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, August 19, 2022.
Investigators are looking for any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the incident, particularly those with dashcam video, to contact them at 416-808-7400, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), or at www.222tips.com.
