CANADA Canada - Elizabeth Bain, 22, Scarborough, Ont, 19 June 1990 #2

that is not necessarily true, you don't have to use a vial,

that would only be true if blood was taken at a hospital or clinic,

i could draw blood from myself using a syringe at home and store it in any container i want to,

remember Mrs B is a nurse, and so was daughter C, they would know these things

JB and CB were RNs at that time? Not that I recall fwiw.

MB and EB went to Saint Rose of Lima school, close to Scarborough General Hospital, where JB worked as an RNA I believe, or Ward Clerk, then they moved closer to the zoo, and I think they went to either PJP2 or St Malachy, think it was JP2, hard to recall. They both ended up at Newman for high school. I don't recall CB or PB at all. Someone posted about the nails on EB's car. I do recall it was the first time I had seen that when she drove me home the one time. So long ago, I can't recall if it was a nail thing, I feel it was one of those stuffed cat stuck in the door gag novelties. She was very close to MB when I knew them. MB was a great guy and I am sure still is, and yes, as someone posted, very muscular in high school and after, not in grade school obv. The family was, and is, I believe, convinced of the guilt of RB, and there were further issues. Someone posted, either dotr or matou, about her beauty. Totally true. She was stunning. Tiny and thin but curvy. And so sweet. At an assembly at Newman she walked up for a sports award. The students went wild. She was shy and stared at the floor as she went up. I think it was for cross country. Her teacher coach Mr. T organized many searches I believe. She was loved so much, and her family has suffered and misses her so much. I remember everyone on edge when remains were found, sad of course regardless, it was not EB, but Julie Stanton of Pickering, may she also rest in peace. Sad world. My thoughts and prayers are always with the Bain family.

And McMahon was disparaging called a hayseed or something in Finkle's book. Not true imo. Genius man imo. Crown, then ADAG criminal law, then Judge. In spite of the further decision of Justice Marc Rosenberg, may he rest in peace as well.

McMahon was a genius, absolutely agree with that statement.
Anyone who can secure a 2nd degree murder conviction against an innocent person with zero evidence, has to be a genius.

I hardly know where to start with how good a response this is imo eyes!

Fwiw, there was no stuffed cat or any other stuffed item in or on EB's car, so highly doubt the source that MB was a 'great guy' and that he and EB were 'close'. That is not reflected by Finkle - tend to go with Finkle's researched view myself. Memories tend to fail over time imo.

Flossie:
Did you continue to know the Bain family after high school? Live near them? You sound like you were fairly close at one point. Also wondering how you got the impression of McMahon. Did you attend the trial?
Also, where did they live before they moved to their Scarboro Ave residence if may ask.
Thanks Flossie hope to hear more from you

Gotten pretty quiet here.
Let's fire up the conversation again somehow.
Anybody have any questions on the case.
Fire away.

What steps can be taken to find EB's body, that, imo, is the most important thing of all.
Can cadaver dogs be brought to the area around the school and tennis courts, what about near her home and where the car was found? imo.

Toronto Police will not allow any cadaver dogs in the Toronto area in regards to this case. All known cadaver handlers and training schools are tied into law enforcement in some way and will ask permission of the local force to enter their jurisdiction.
Toronto has made it very clear they will not allow access to anyone outside and they will not entertain any thought of proceeding with their own.
There was a Durham Sgt who was a past dog handler specialist who was very upbeat and excited when hearing the story and made it seem like it would be no problem for him to come in with a dog.
He phoned Toronto Police to request permission and was flat out denied. That was the end of that.
The reason being is because they will not entertain any thought that detracts from their theory that RB killed EB and took her body to lake scugog area.
They will not detract from RB until they are forced to by public pressure. Their motives are very selfish to protect their own from admitting they convicted an innocent man.
The whereabouts of EB is of no concern to them and hasn't been since after the first week when they decided RB was the guilty person.
Very sad, but very true.

It would be wonderful to have access to a cadaver dog to search areas of interest. For now, that will not happen.

I think it is going to come down to public pressure spear headed by a media campaign that will force LE to reopen the case.
It would be amazing if any one of the key witnesses who altered their stories at the hands of LE would come forward and fess up and just come clean. That would prob force an immediate exoneration of RB and an immediate reopening of the case to find EB and her real killer.
I am sure the witnesses I am referring too are guilt ridden but they don't have to be. What is done is done. There would be absolutely no charges, and I'm sure RB would harbor no ill will towards them.
LE used these people to acquire their goal, at whatever cost.
I can only pray someone will come forward and tell the truth about how LE manipulated them into believing they were helping put a killer behind bars.
Also, lastly would be the almighty hail Mary that someone stumbles across her grave by accident, or that one person out there who knows what happened beside the killer himself, decides to come forward. Which might happen if we can get the media machine to roll

I don't recall CB or PB at all.

a friend of mine who said they knew the Bain family at the time of the disappearance said both CB and PB attended high school at Pope John Paul II in Scarborough on Military trail just west of Morningside Ave,

Someone posted about the nails on EB's car. I do recall it was the first time I had seen that when she drove me home the one time. So long ago, I can't recall if it was a nail thing, I feel it was one of those stuffed cat stuck in the door gag novelties

my friend recalls this also, and says it was a "novelty" hand/fingers sticking out from the crack between the door and the frame of the body of the car, on the passenger side of the car, kind of a joke thing, my friend says he saw this item personally, and he was in the car many times, he said PB drove the car quite often, and he said he was a good friend of PB,

this is only what my friend is telling me, and only their own point of view

Your friend is very clever imo.

Grab a Toronto Sunday Sun paper today. Case on front page and big 3 full page article pages 3-5. Part two will appear tomorrow.

Very curious about the blond, moustached man with receding hairline. Would that have been the kind of guy EB might be attracted to, or perhaps somebody from work?
imo, speculation.

Dibben reported seeing a blond man with a moustache and receding hair line driving a car matching Bain’s near Port Perry at about 6 a.m. Friday, June 22
Who really killed Elizabeth Bain? *****
In Monday’s Sun Part 2 - A call to reopen the case and a father convinced they had the right man.

There is one item I wish the author had clarified better. Roughly halfway through this article a paragraph ends with a two word sentence 'Bains blood' - referring to EB.

For anyone that has read the book NCTM and other articles of research, it is known that no one can hold up a banner and say the blood in the back of EB's car was scientifically determined to belong to her and only her. The blood was determined to belong to a female offspring of Mr and Mrs B - there are two known female offspring. EB's sister was asked on the stand if she had ever bled in EB's car and she replied no she had not.

It is an assumption that the blood belonged to EB. Maybe a good assumption, but an assumption regardless of how one slices it.

There is one more statement made as fact which might only stand out for me - not long into the article a paragraph begins 'Bain told her mom ...'. Always an assumption regardless of the case if the speaker cannot clarify one way or another.

So RB saw her car near the tennis courts at around 7 pm and then after 9 pm it was gone? Pretty good timeline right there. 8 pm, woman walking home sees a woman who looks like EB struggling to leave her car parked at the auto shop on Morrish Road. Hmmmm.

Not sure what types EB would be attracted.
As far as we are concerned, with the information we have, Eb's car was never in PT Perry on Friday morning.
There are two very reliable witnesses who testified that the car was in the EXACT same spot and position from when it was first seen wed morning to when it was found Friday afternoon.
The Secretary from the 3r auto shop who could see the car from the window at her desk. Whom the detectives attempted to try and get her to say the car had moved Friday morning to fit their theory, but she held strong to the truth as she knew it.
The other witness was the owner of the 3r auto who was the first one to notice the car Wed morning about 7:30am when he arrived. He was an ex RCMP officer.

If you mean a good timeline for RB's alibi, you are absolutely right. McMahon referred to it as the "perfect alibi".
Well duh, innocent people usually do have the perfect alibi because they didn't do it.
That timeline is exactly why LE moved their theory of Liz being murdered to before 7pm.

And the woman who saw EB around 8:30pm on morrish Rd said she came within about 3ft of her and testifies that it WAS EB or it would have had to have been an identical twin.
