Calabogie. I wonder if this is close to the area where LE was conducting searches a few months ago.

The remains have not been identified and police said Monday it is unknown so far if they are those of a male and female.

Police will look at any missing person’s reports, said OPP Sgt. Kristine Rae, as is routine in such an investigation.

In June, a 28-year-old Barrhaven man vanished after telling friends and family he was headed to Petawawa. Fouad Nayel last seen on June 17 in the Renfrew/Calabogie area sometime after he went missing.

The homicide investigation is now underway with OPP and Ottawa police working together. Ottawa police said the investigation was first deemed a homicide probe in September, but now OPP have taken the lead.

Headed to Petawawa, victim told friend

Nayel was in the Petawawa area when he was last seen. Nayel's friend, Adam Mounzer, told CBC News in June Nayel was heading there to see a friend and he was in "good spirits."
