CANADA - Four homicides possibly connected, Calgary, 3 April 2019 to 14 May 2019

Calgary police say they are exploring the possibility that four recent targeted killings are connected.

The first homicide police said that could be connected is an April 3 double homicide that left Jasdeep Singh, 25, and Japneet Malhi, 22, dead in a hail of bullets. The shooting happened around 2:15 a.m. in the 2400 block of 37 Ave. N.E. and while one victim died on scene, the other perished in hospital.

On Sunday morning, 49-year-old Bikramjit Dhindsa was slain inside of a Hamptons home in the 100 block of Hampstead Close N.W. when four unidentified suspects rushed into a home. They later fled in a small, four-door SUV.

On Friday morning, police identified Rishabh Saini, 23, as the victim of a targeted shooting in the 200 block of Taracove Road N.E. around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday night.

Suspects spotted on surveillance video before a man was found dead in the Hamptons area of Calgary City of Calgary

Police said Wednesday they were exploring links to Dhindsa’s slaying as well as others in Western Canada.

On Friday morning, police identified Rishabh Saini, 23, as the victim of a targeted shooting in the 200 block of Taracove Road N.E. around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday night.

A man living near the crime scene said he saw two men run from the area as emergency crews arrived.

Govardhanan Nagappan called 911 after running across the street to find the victim bleeding from the head.

Four of the 10 homicides in Calgary this year have involved shootings, at least three of them targeted.
