Thank you, that article wasn't easy to find thru google.. I thought LE had forgotten about poor Harman.
CHCH has a short video newscast posted at link below, and story.. only a portion of story appears quoted below. (BBM)
Nearly 17 days after he went missing, police say they still have no confirmed sightings of a missing Mohawk College grad after a friend saw and spoke to him on the morning of Oct. 28.
Homicide Det. Sgt. Joe Stewart said Tuesday evening that police have "no significant developments" in the hunt for 19-year-old Harmanjit Singh.
The young visa student, who just graduated from a Mohawk certificate program and obtained a work permit, vanished after spending the evening with a friend.
Due to the suspicious nature of Singh's sudden and unexplained disappearance, the case was given to Hamilton homicide squad. Last week police forensic specialists spent two days combing through the Hannon Crescent home where Singh was last known to have spent the night.
Singh spent 90 minutes in a video chat with his girlfriend from that home late on the evening of Sunday, Oct. 27, and the two exchanged texts until 2 a.m. on the Monday. He was behaving normally during the conversation, she has said.
Armed with a search warrant, police descended on the home 10 days later. “We’re finished (there) — that wrapped up on Friday,” Stewart confirmed.
However, he said he “cannot discuss what we were searching for or what was found.”
Stewart did squelch rumours about a possible second sighting captured on video, said to have occurred as much as 36 hours after the last time Singh was seen.
“We have information from people who believe they have seen him, based on the description and the photo we released, but we have not been able to confirm any of them,” he said.
(I alerted a mod, as this is the 2nd thread set up for Harmanjit)
(I think we have 2 threads running ...)
I hope it's not him, and I hope it is him so that at least his family will know where he is. 'Could take several weeks' to identify the remains?? Very weird case.. imho. I guess we continue to wait for some kind of news.
" Police say the remains are believed to be those of a male, but due to the advanced stages of decomposition, a positive identification cannot be made at this time.
They say a DNA comparison will have to be made and that the examination and analysis may take several weeks."

The missing contractor first came to my mind and now you have you have posted a reference to the missing young student. Hard for the family....RIP
Sorry, see now that the remains are being compared to Harmanjit Singh, thread for him ..
This is very sad news
My heart goes out to his family
I wonder if there was jewellery or something...
I understand waiting to inform the public until a certain identification is made
I wonder if LE found HS's cellphone in the home or if it was with his person (or neither). I wonder why the 'friend' picked him up at 11pm on a Sunday night, seems late. And after he went to the 'friend's' house, why he would spend 90 minutes texting his girlfriend instead of visiting with said 'friend'. How horrible to think his family sent him here to get an education, and he ends up this way. When I read that a body had been found, I wondered if it could possibly be a suicide, but then I thought, if one is going to kill themselves by drowning, then they wouldn't do it in a flood basin.
