Where did you hear the news? The presser?

ETA: Do you have a source on this? (Or a link?) Any clues?

ETA2: FB wall is full of grief. No details, though. Not the outcome one would have hoped for at all. My thoughts are with the family.

ETA3: FB wall says her body was found today; no details on where or COD. The presser is on RDI, in French.

Rough translation of details: LE has found a body that is believed to be Hilary, in a wooded area in northeast NB, but are not confirming that it is her yet, though family have been notified, and people are using the place as a memorial to Hilary.

Police find remains believed to be missing New Brunswick girl
Hilary Bonnell, 16, was last seen at a house party two months ago

The RCMP in New Brunswick say they've found human remains believed to be that of Hilary Bonnell, a girl who went missing more than two months ago.

Police say they found the remains buried in a remote wooded area in the Tracadie-Sheila area of the province.

RCMP Insp. Roch Fortin says foul play is suspected and that a suspect is in custody, but no charges have been laid.

Of further interest, though I have no idea if the two things are linked, Hilary's cousin was arrested on sexual assault and confinement charges this week in an unrelated case. Rough time for this family.

Burnt Church man charged with sexual assault, confinement

Curtis Bonnell is facing four charges, including sexual assault, unlawful confinement and resisting arrest.

Bonnell is the cousin of Hilary Bonnell, a teenager who went missing two months ago from the Esgenoopetitj First Nation, which is commonly known as Burnt Church.

O/T: If a mod happens by, can we get Hilary's name spelled correctly in the thread title, please?

RCMP search N.B. reserve where girl, 16, went missing.

ESGENOOPETITJ FIRST NATION, N.B.- RCMP are expected to continue searching the home of a missing girl's relative Wednesday on a First Nation community 180 kilometres north of Moncton.

Hilary Bonnell, 16, went missing on Sept. 5 after texting "Oh my God, I am so scared" to a friend. The home is near a store where the girl was last seen.

RCMP arrived at the home Tuesday on the Esgenoopetitj First Nations reserve, local media reported Wednesday.

An RCMP spokesman would not confirm Wednesday who the home belonged to, or whether a link existed between the search warrant and the hunt for the missing teen.

I had just come across this. You are fast. http://www.canada.com/news/Body+teen+likely+found+suspect+arrested/2220495/story.html

This is so sad. My heart goes out to her mother.

The news stories have been coming out quickly since the PC, but they mostly say the same things - very likely her, sadly, but they aren't confirming until tests come back, naturally.

I'd like to extend our heartfelt sorrow to Hilary's family, on behalf of all the posters who have cared for this thread and waited for good news.

Very sad day, indeed.

I am so sorry to read this.
Thanks for updating.

Hi Ducky,

In the comments on the CBC story, there is speculation about the perp being either the uncle or his son. I'm a bit familiar with the area, most of my family lives in NE New Brunswick. The woods are fairly thick and I know Tabusintac is fairly large area with a reserve which is associated with Esginoopetijg. In the Tracadie area, there's another reserve called Pokemouche. It's a bit north of Tracadie. I wonder if she was located near the woods of the Pokemoche reserve.
