Canada - Jeremy Cook, 18, shot to death, London, Ont, 14 June 2015

http://www.lfpress.com/2015/06/21/s...ia-to-withhold-judgment-until-facts-are-known

The sister of a man being sought for the killing of an 18-year-old Londoner as he tried to retrieve a cellphone is calling for people to wait before judging.

“I know my brother and one thing he is not is a murderer,” Maha Sultan wrote on her public Facebook page on the weekend.

“But I myself do not know (the) full story just like everyone else in the world. I just hate how people are so quick to judge without knowing the full story . . . Who are you to judge him? God? You people have no right to judge . . . “

Maha Sultan, who declined an interview request, appealed to the family of victim Jeremy Cook, 18, saying her “heart reaches out” to them.

“We are hurt for the young boy who lost his life, we are hurt because we don’t know what’s going on,” she wrote. “We are all praying for the answers and at the end of the day justice will be served here but the last judgment will come from Allah himself.”

"While police in at least two provinces searched for a man wanted in the chilling murder of a teen who died after tracking his lost cellphone to a London parking lot, nearly 800 people turned out to a funeral for Jeremy Cook Monday.

Mourners packed a Brampton church that seats 750 to remember the young entrepreneur who had recently moved to London to further his carpentry career goals.

Meanwhile, police continued their hunt for his suspected killer — 23-year-old Muhab Sultan — who has moved between London and Calgary in recent years. He’s wanted for second-degree *murder.

London police have received tips on the case, but wouldn’t say where Sultan is believed to be.

“We don’t want to indicate any specific province and we are not certain where he is,” said Const. Ken Steeves. “He could be anywhere, which is why we sent out a release with his image.

“People who know him by name will know him, but we hope the image will help identify him no matter where he is in Canada
.”

Very interesting article myzzy and thank you. Seems like family troubles all over. 2011, complained because police were targeting his son (and months later...no doubt his daughter pfft). Sounds like for very good reasons...drugs and weapons charges, causing a disturbance where someone had a knife, they tried to flee from LE, sounds like not only a rogue limo service, but perhaps a rogue moving business also? Maybe this case will blow the lid right off a lot of illegal activity eventually. Gangs, drugs, weapons, robberies, unsolved murders, etc. MOO.

Although Muhab Sultan is described as a Calgary man, he and other members of his family lived in London and it appeared Sultan moved back and forth between Alberta and Ontario. As recently as 2014, he played in a London basketball league, according to photographs and player statistics on that league’s website.

The Sultan family was well known in London’s Sudanese community and garnered a fair share of headlines while living here for battles with authorities, from police to city hall.

Maha Sultan identifies her father on Facebook as Sultan Sultan, and photographs of him as well as other posts indicate he’s the same Sultan Sultan who caused a stir in 2003 and 2004 by creating a rogue limousine company in London.

After stormy battles with city hall involving hundreds of cab drivers, which led to one court victory but resulted in a tougher new city bylaw, Sultan Sultan gave up the limousine service.

In March 2011, he lost a bid to get a paralegal licence in Ontario because of his own brushes with the law. In a licensing hearing, he complained police were targeting his son.

IMO Maha is fair game when it comes to sleuthing. She is in the MSM as she came forward and spoke out regarding her brother the alleged murderer. MOO.

London police say there was no misconduct in Sultan's arrest October 5, 2011.

Recordings of the calls from Sultan, 18, and her father “indicate very clearly there was assaultive behaviour,” Duncan said Wednesday, noting police also have statements from someone who witnessed a disturbance outside the home.

Sultan has been charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, assaulting a peace officer and uttering threats.

Police have said she was very aggressive and was wielding a metal pipe when they arrived at the house. During her arrest, Sultan threatened to kill officers and at one point spat on them, police have said.

Do some people get away with criminal activity? Apparently. Disgusting how some people hide behind religion and commit crimes. MOO.

Anyone familiar with gang signs? This is the suspects "bro" who also has been mentioned in MSM with a criminal past, both arrested together. I'm not up on gang information but do they also have their favourite colours? MOO. TIA.

There are very specific hand symbols for each group, apparently, this is a lengthy article specific to Canadian gangs...

https://tipshelp.com/know-the-signs/combat-gang-violence/

"Consistent with Montreal’s stress on the value of power and recognition, officials in northern Minnesota and northwestern Ontario stress that gang members flagrantly display their criminal affiliation by wearing gang colours, getting tattoos of common gang symbols, flashing a variety of gang signs—their own specialized hand signals, and sometimes with “signature” modi operandi in their commission of violent crimes."

I am not sure if the moving business was for local moves, but it could have been a front to traffic drugs from Western Canada to Ontario....jmho.....

I have a feeling you may be right on the money hellinor. And then there is this:

The name of his company was Allaround Limousine. Wonder who those at least six drivers were? Couple of sons? Obviously this company/drivers was persistent in having their way continually breaking the rules/law. MOO.

At least six Allaround drivers have been charged by the city with violating its bylaw.

Rogue

1. a dishonest, knavish person; scoundrel.

LE should put out into the MSM multiple photos of this suspect as his appearance seems to change slightly. This photo is from March 2014. In some photos his skin appears darker then others. Maybe they are on his trail and feel no need to release more photos. Here's hoping and praying. JMO.

I can't believe one family is so entangled with the law and she would even say anything at this point

This is my first post on this particular thread. My heart goes out to Jeremy Cook's family. To think that this young boy died over a cellphone that was a few hundred dollars, he was doing nothing wrong and this is a cruel disgusting crime. The family will be traumatized for the rest of their lives to think of what happened in the last part of his life, so young. I pray for them to have strength in this difficult time.

In regards to the sister of the suspect I am disappointed she is bringing religion into this and talking about God. The facts are there back and white. This young boy was tracking his cellphone and killed in cold blood for no reason. There is no other side of the story and the facts are very clear. In her own religion it states if you kill one human being it is as if you have killed all of humanity. She should be urging her brother to give himself in. That is what genuine people would do in this situation, to get on TV and say you need to turn yourself in now, not to tell people to get their facts straight and not judge.

Just want to add the Sudanese community in the GTA and Alberta are plagued with issues involving drugs, gangs etc. I realize it is also rampant in other communities too. In regards to looking lighter in some photos than others, some ethnic groups do that because they have been taught that lighter is more beautiful. Even in this day and age women in South Asian and Asian cultures use face brightening products to make themselves more fair.

Muhad may have drowned in the Rideau River, Ottawa, after trying to escape LE.

Ottawa police are investigating whether a man thought to have drowned in the Rideau River is Muhab Sultanaly Sultan, who is wanted in the London, Ont., cellphone slaying of Jeremy Cook.

Ottawa police say a man allegedly struck two bike-riding police officers with his car on Wednesday afternoon in Ottawa's Lowertown neighbourhood.

Police said he then tried to swim across the Rideau River and ran into trouble in the water, so two officers jumped in the river to try to rescue him. He then slipped under the water, police said.

A 23-year-old suspect, wanted in connection with a deadly shooting in northeast London earlier this month, may have drowned in the Rideau River following a Police chase in Ottawa.

According to the Ottawa Citizen, Police in Ottawa are “probing the possibility,” but provided no further details, while a CBC reporter in Ottawa quoted sources as saying Police have “reason to believe” the shooting suspect and the presumed drowning victim are one and the same.

Here's hoping his buddy who was with him and arrested is the other suspect involved in the murder of Jeremy.

They say they gave chase in a squad car and ended up near the Rideau River, where they say two suspects jumped out and officers arrested one, but lost the other.

Police believe the same man tried to run down two bicycle patrol officers with his vehicle during a traffic stop at Rideau Street and King Edward Avenue at 4 p.m. Wednesday. One officer suffered minor injuries.

The vehicle was abandoned on Wiggins Private near the Strathcona Heights Community Garden after a pursuit and a male passenger was taken into custody. The driver escaped into a nearby wooded area.

It's all good if MS has drown. No trial and fear of him getting off or a light sentence, no waste of taxpayers money. If he was found guilty and sentenced to 25 years, now there is no worry of him getting out in 15 to 20 years. The public is free and safe from this IMHO.

Thanks for posting this surprising and ultimately, tragic turn of events. What a mess and so soon after JC was put to rest.

This seems to be the summer of runaway felons! imo.
