Police investigating after multiple people shot in Niagara Falls | CP24.com

''Multiple people are injured after an overnight shooting on Clifton Hill, a major tourist area in Niagara Falls, police say.

Early Friday morning, Niagara Regional Police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Clifton Hill near the Midway.

It is unconfirmed how many victims are injured and the status of their injuries.

No suspect details have been released.

Police are asking the public to avoid the area.

Detectives Investigating Homicide – Niagara Falls - Niagara Regional Police Service (niagarapolice.ca)
''At approximately 12:30am on Friday April 8th, 2022, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-On-The-Lake) responded to a reported shooting on Clifton Hill near the Great Canadian Midway, in the City of Niagara Falls.

Upon arrival, officers determined that three individuals had been shot. One victim was pronounced deceased as result of their injuries. The other two victims were transported to a local hospital by Niagara Emergency Medical Service (NEMS) paramedics. Both have since been transferred to out-of-town hospitals for further medical treatment. One victim is currently listed in critical condition and the other is listed in stable condition.

A blue Ford F-150 Super Crew 4 Door Pick Up truck was observed leaving the area at a high rate of speed. It had dark tinted windows, a tri-fold tonneau cover, and a moonroof. The vehicle has visible damage and is missing a door handle and the front licence plate. This vehicle was last seen travelling west on Lundy’s Lane toward the area of Montrose Road and Highway 420, in the City of Niagara Falls.

The NRPS Homicide Unit has assumed carriage of the investigation. At this stage of the investigation, there is no evidence to suggest an ongoing threat to public safety.

At this time, police remain on-scene along with the NRPS Forensic Services Unit. Clifton Hill has been closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic and it is not expected to re-open for several hours.

''Niagara police continue to appeal for information on a shooting at a popular tourist area that left one boy dead and two others injured earlier this month.''

''On Wednesday, police said the two boys continue to recover from their injuries in hospital and are in stable condition.

Also, police said the vehicle of interest, a blue four-door Ford F-150 Super Crew 4 pickup truck, has yet to be located. The truck was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed following the shooting.''

Teen charged in triple shooting at Niagara Falls entertainment complex

A Mississauga teen is facing charges in connection with a shooting at a popular Niagara Falls tourist attraction that claimed the life of one boy and injured two others back in April.

''Police said Tuesday that a 17-year-old boy from Mississauga is now facing a slew of charges in connection with the shooting. They include attempted murder, aggravated assault, robbery, discharge firearm with intent, reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime, and theft of a motor vehicle.

The suspect cannot be named under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The teen was scheduled to make a court appearance for a bail hearing in St. Catharines on Tuesday.

Police would not say Tuesday whether they have located the suspect vehicle, but they did indicate that they may still be looking for other suspects.''
