"Police on Montreal's south shore are searching for a man who attempted to kidnap a two-year-old girl while she was walking with her mother in broad daylight before a passerby rescued her."

"The attempted abduction happened on Wednesday afternoon near Levasseur Park in St-Constant, Que., on Montreal's South Shore.

Investigators say the man grabbed the girl, put her on his shoulder and began biking away.

After the girl's mother cried for help, a passerby intervened, stepping in front of the bike. He rescued the toddler, but the man who had tried to abduct her took off."

Google the sex offender listed in the comments below this video, kinda similar facial features, they even have the same beard, but the age is off by 10 years.

They need to release if the suspect uttered anything at all that could give a clue as to whether he is English or French speaking. Saint Constant is an extremely francophone area and an English speaker would stuck out like a sore thumb. Seems to me like it wouldn't be Mclean if that were the case. However Kahnawake is just down the road from this area and the natives are almost exclusively English speaking. The composite could be slightly Cree in appearance? The language spoken could be a huge clue and narrow things down immensely.

The composite of the toddler snatcher reminds me of the witness in the Valerie Leblanc case, imo.

    http://www.1310news.com/2011/10/13/...etch-in-valerie-leblanc-murder-investigation/

"described as a French-speaking male, aged between 20 and 35, believed to be about six feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. His appearance was described as “intimidating.”

Witnesses told police the man was clean-shaven, had big hands, a protruding belly and was dark haired."

However having said that, this region has hundreds of seasonal agricultural workers who come from Mexico to pick fruit and vegetables from farms in the region and they mostly get around by bicycle. Hmmmm. Hope the police are investigating that angle.

Yes but Valerie's suspect spoke French. It's that language thing again and it's really an important detail. I think the suspect in Valerie's case was local to the Gatineau area.

He's pretty distinctive looking with that long goatee and his girth. Someone has to know something. My bet is that he is a local. Hope someone recognizes him soon.

Can't edit myself but I meant to write Mohawk not Cree?? I don't think he is though. My gut says he is local to Saint Constant.

Good I hope they get to the bottom of this. I hadn't realized that police were not in contact with the intervening bystander from the beginning. The mother went home instead of reporting the incident immediately to police and the Good Samaritan has yet to come forward. I would think he would have called the cops immediately himself or come forward since this has been pretty big news here.
