"Toronto police are asking for the public's help in finding a woman who allegedly stabbed another woman for no apparent reason inside a pharmacy at Bay and Wellington Streets Friday.

The alleged perpetrator brought a knife into the store and then stabbed another woman "without provocation" on Friday around 2:55 p.m., police said in a media release Saturday.

The incident happened inside the Shoppers Drug Mart in the underground PATH system in the TD Centre, police say."

I'm assuming the victim didn't know who the perpetrator was, and how bizarre is it a stranger just randomly stabbed someone?

Apparently victim was stabbed in the chest, was the perp aiming for the heart?
If so, maybe that is the heart of the matter? imo.

"Police released a photo of the suspect taken from surveillance video Saturday. The suspect was wearing a lavender dress shirt and a black blazer and matching skirt at the time of the attack. She was carrying what appears to be a red shopping bag. On Monday morning, police announced that the suspect had been identified as Rohinie Bisesar.

She is known to spend time in the financial district, police said. If anyone sees the suspect, they are asked to 9-1-1. Do not approach her, police said. She is considered “violent and dangerous.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-5200, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at http://www.222tips.com, rbbm.or to text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637)."

One does not usually expect an attractive, well-dressed, female financial advisor to just walk up to a random female stranger in a drugstore, and just stab them, imo.
Wonder if this woman had done anything like that before that went under the radar?
Did she attack a female because she was sane enough to know it might be easier than attacking a man?
    Where is she now?!
    imo. speculation.

According to police, a female suspect armed with a knife approached a victim inside the store, then stabbed the victim without provocation.

    "The victim received life-threatening injuries.

The victim and suspect did not know each other, police said, and the stabbing appears to be a “completely random act of violence.”

"The victim was taken to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

"She remains in grave condition, she's not doing well," Hopkinson said. "

"Suspect commended for her 'warmth and interpersonal skills'

"I can confirm that Rohinie Bisesar received a Bachelor of Administrative Studies degree in 2004 and a Masters of Business Administration degree in 2007," said Joanne Rider, a York University spokesperson, in a statement. "We are not able to provide further comment."

A LinkedIn profile that appears to belong to Bisesar says she held several positions as an employee at York University between 1999-2007, including as systems administrator, technical information analyst, web communications coordinator and chair of the Schulich Women in Leadership club.

The LinkedIn profile also lists Bisesar as chair of a sub-committee for Women in Capital Markets, a networking association, between 2011-2013.

"She was superb both for the outstanding quality of her work and for her warmth and interpersonal skills," said a former colleague and a York University associate professor, Georges Monette, in a recommendation on her profile."

    I hope she'll be okay.

As for the suspect - I get more confused with each new piece of information.

"Adris Pone, a colleague of Bisesar, has known her for about a decade and describes the allegations as shocking.

“The behaviour that is alleged is extremely, extremely out of character for Rohinie. (I’m) absolutely shocked. This is someone who is very gentle, very calm, very measured. She speaks almost with a whisper. Physically she is like 5’1 in heels, probably 85 lbs. soaking wet.

“This is someone very gentle, just makes this whole thing all the more surprising.”

Police are not releasing the name of the victim but did say she was “significantly” younger than the suspect. There is no known relationship between the two women."

Recently a mother's throat was slit as she was standing in the frozen food aisle. It was random. The mom died and her children were with her. The perpetrator wanted to go into a local market and stab as many people as she could. It's things like this that make me jumpy in public. But if you look at the photo, the perpetrator looks clearly deranged. (Unlike the case on this thread).

Wondering where she might go, and what the alleged perp might do at this point?
Considering that the financial district, where RB. is known to frequent, is close to Lake Ontario, maybe that is where she might be heading.....?
    speculation, imo.

This makes no sense. Shoppers is not some tiny pharmacy and the Walk is not some tiny underpath. There's CCTV EVERYWHERE so they have to know exactly what exit she took. I can't imagine she drove or hopped in a cab. At that hour and intersection she'd be at a standstill. TTC? What am I missing here?

The suspect would have surely known that cameras are everywhere, especially inside the store- did she want the stabbing to be recorded, or did she have a complete break with sanity?
Wonder if she had a change of clothing, a wig, or a head covering of some kind ,in her large red bag that allowed her to slip away..?
    imo.

I wish you hadn't said that. My husband went out last night and I made him look at the picture and memorize the description and promise me if he saw her he would NOT APPROACH her. Maybe a bit of an overreaction on my part. Like I'm sure she's just randomly strolling up and down the boardwalk in the dark.

So, thanks for that dotr. :)

IMHO there are a few cryptic things in the information available:

    - looking at her linkedin profile page, she seems to have had no steady employment since graduating. The only thing confirmed is her education at York. She vaguely mentions briefly being a head of a 'mining company' that she doesn't name.

    From the Star http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/2015/12/14/toronto-police-id-suspect-in-unprovoked-path-stabbing.html
-despite being unemployed, police describe her as regularly frequenting the financial district in Toronto. What does she do when she frequents the area?

-the police mention where she frequents, but not the area where she lives - what is her fixed address? Does she have one? Does she live with anyone? Why no appeals from family for her to turn herself in?

She's described as being very petite, and dressed in dark, common business attire. IMO it would be easy for her to go unnoticed. She was carrying a coat over her arm, what looks like a purse and another bag - all of which could have hidden her weapon and any possible blood.

My theory is that the Path, stores, and coffee shops might be her second home, possibly the place she spends most of her time. She is carefully made up to look as though she has business there, but does not. (Maybe pretending to go to work every day?) I think the police might find her eventually in a coffee shop acting as if nothing was amiss. Or, as we're close to Christmas, she'll show up at a relatives home.

It's easy to lose yourself in the underground paths. A few years ago a teen patient went missing from Sick Kids hospital and was seen heading into the Path. My nephew was at Sick Kids at the time, so a number of my family went to look for the teen. Dozens of police and volunteers went looking for him and I think it took about 10 hours to eventually find him, and only because he called a family member.
