"A suspect wanted in connection with a violent attack on a 16-year-old girl and her mother in Scarborough last month was seen on surveillance cameras as he attempted to withdraw money from an ATM at a casino in Niagara Falls hours after the incident, police say.

The attack happened inside a sixth floor apartment at a building near Danforth and McCowan roads at around 6 p.m. on Nov. 23".
"Police have previously said that the teen girl was stabbed multiple times and that her 37-year-old mother was struck in the head repeatedly."
"He is believed to be driving a grey 2009 Toyota Tundra pick-up truck with Ontario License Plate AJ 21674."

Police issue arrest warrant for suspect in violent attack on teen girl and her mother
"Hillier said at the time the incident occurred, Rajkumar was not supposed to be at that apartment per the terms of a recent judicial release.

Rajkumar is described as five-foot-eleven and 160 lbs. He was last seen wearing a red shirt with a white zip-up jacket and is believed to be driving a grey 2009 Toyota Tundra pick-up truck with Ontario License Plate AJ 21674.

“He has relationships across the GTA so he could be anywhere,” Hillier said.

Police say that he should be considered “armed and dangerous.”

Hillier said Rajkumar should talk to a lawyer and turn himself in."

‘THEY ARE HEROES’: Toronto cops credited with saving life of stabbed girl, 13
"Meet Jessica’s heroes: Sgt. Royce MacDonald, Const. Natalie Urbas, Const. Sukhjit Gill, Const. David Monteiro, Const. Zack Katanic, Const. Bryon Faduck, Const. Jesse Riley — all of the PSRT — and 43 division’s Const. Richard Ruiz.

Like McCormack, Insp. Timothy Crone, acting-superintendent Frank Barredo, Deputy Chief James Ramer and Chief Mark Saunders are incredibly proud of them — and thankful Jessica is OK, too.

“I don’t think I have ever seen greater heroism or a more horrific crime scene,” said Crone.

What a horrible scene it was"

"Dr. Edward Hickey, of Sick Kids, offered his praise in a note he sent to lead investigator Det. Jason Hillier.

“I was the cardiovascular surgeon involved when the 13 year-old female polytrauma victim was received at Sick Kids,” said the doctor. “I don’t know the circumstances regarding how the patient was initially found by your officers. However, I do know the extent and severity of the massive bleeding that we had to deal with.”

He said that he and “several other surgeons involved in her case have remarked that a very large part of the reason that this girl has survived (and I very much hope will make a good recovery) is due to the fact that she was so well managed by the officers and paramedics who found her and then delivered her to ER still awake and alert and blood loss reduced to the minimum possible in the circumstances.”

"Hunt continues for man accused of stabbing mother and her daughter in Scarborough
Hours after a woman and her teenage daughter were viciously stabbed in Scarborough last November, police released a name, age and photo of the suspect. But as Tammie Sutherland reports, a year later the search for the alleged attacker has gone cold."
