September 16, 2020

The Ontario Provincial Police provides an image, Wednesday, of a man whose remains were located in the Municipality of West Nipissing 10 years ago and are still unidentified. Screenshot

''In a video posted to social media Wednesday, Sgt. Carlo Berardi says police were alerted to found human remains on Sept. 2, 2010, north of Highway 17 on Lac Clair Road.

No identification was found on the individual.

With the assistance of the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, the OPP says the individual was determined to be male, who would have been 35 to 55 years of age, Caucasian, healthy with short brown hair, a medium build, and a height of between five feet eight inches and six feet four inches.

Located with the remains were a camouflage jacket, Ray-Ban sunglasses, a gold-coloured quartz watch, a red and navy blue gym bag, a camouflage backpack and size 11 Athletic Works joggers.''

“We believe his remains could have been there as early as June 2010. No piece of information is too small and all information will be investigated.”

''Members of the public are asked to call 1-877-9-FINDME if they know of anyone who matches the description provided and hasn’t been seen or heard from in the past 10 years.''
