Thank you for your link.

"State Police say a car has driven into a group of pedestrians in East Boston. At least nine people have been injured, according to a public safety official briefed on the incident.

The incident is unfolding at Porter Street and Tomahawk Drive, near the Logan taxi pool. State Police are on the scene, the agency said in a tweet."

Fox News - F.B.I believes this is an accident and not terror related.

Ugh terrible. Hoping for accidental acceleration etc and not an intentional act.

So far it looks like it's being investigated as operator error. The person remained on the scene. (No official source, from a friend in Boston)

According to your link, it was a taxicab. It crashed into people at an area where taxicab drivers take breaks.

Seems hardly a day or week goes by without reading of someone crashing their car into a retail store or something like this. Bad driving skills? Distracted drivers?

ETA: Driver is someone they know, he's been around a long time. The other drivers don't think he did it on purpose. They were sitting at tables playing cards and dominoes.

I wonder if they mistook the accelerator for the break or the car is possibly faulty.

"Ten people were taken to Boston hospitals after a taxi went out of control and struck several people in East Boston. State police said the 56-year-old driver from Cambridge is being interviewed by investigators.

Sources tell WCVB the incident appears to be an accident, most likely a case of operator error where the driver hit the gas instead of the brake.

"At this preliminary point in the investigation, there is no information that suggests the crash was intentional. The driver is currently being interviewed," state police said."
