China - Baby boy attacked by 10 year old girl

I'm glad to see the Daily Mail was inaccurate, (how unusual!), and the child is still alive.

that anyone knows of.....

You could say that about anybody. How do I know you haven't got away with a murder or two that nobody knows about? How do you know I haven't?

Some children really can't differentiate between real life and fantasy. Heck, some adults can't either. Children do not realize that death is " final". I am thinking something horrendous is happening in her home and she is acting out. We can`t give up on kids who do these things. They need real psychiatric care and LOVE.

Chillingly, in the same source, the father of the little girl who perpetrated this terrible violence admitted to beating his daughter, saying that hurting the little boy was her way of “expressing her feelings.” He said:

“She just wanted him to smile to her and to be friendly.”

That was from a blog I read about it.

You have to realize that she is a little girl in one of the worst countries ever to be a little girl. God knows what unspeakable horrors she's seen in her life.

I don't think she's going to get the help she needs and that's the heartbreaking part. I think that children can be rehabilitated if they are shown love and intense therapy. But they will probably send her to a foster care where she will probably get about the same treatment that she gets at home.

BEIJING - A shocking surveillance video emerged this week out of the megacity of Chongqing, showing a 10-year old girl grabbing an infant boy in a high-rise elevator and then proceeding to slam him onto the floor and kick him repeatedly.

The baby was then found downstairs on the sidewalk alive, covered in blood but clinging to life. Authorities are now trying to determine whether the 10-year-old girl threw the infant off the 25th floor.

According to the Chongqing TV News the incident unfolded on the afternoon of Nov. 25 when a woman identified as Mrs. Wu took her grandson Yuanyuan, who is a little older than 1-year-old, out to play.

The surveillance video shows Mrs. Wu exiting the elevator with empty infant push bike just as the 10 year old girl, still in her school uniform, slips into the elevator. The girl then immediately bends down to pick up the boy as the elevator doors close on the grandmother.

This little girl is a sociopath and needs to be held accountable for this.

According to this article, the girl has been taken to live elsewhere with her mother after her father paid restitution to the injured boy's family.

I have very little hope that the girl will receive any help. Mental healthcare is rare where she lives and there is little insurance coverage. And mental illness or disability carries a much bigger stigma than it does here. My guess is the family will just hide her away. :(

This is from 2010 but still relevant imo:

ETA: fingers crossed the little boy will soon be well enough for the surgery he needs, and that he'll make a full recovery; how heartbreaking to think of what he endured emotionally as well as physically

The thing that disturbs me the most about this is the fact that she purposefully and brazenly grabbed the child away from the grandmother. To me that makes me think she has evil intent. Just a feeling.

I'm just glad he's recovering.
