Colorado Springs day care provider under investigation
the officers discovered the wall and found two adults and the children, all under 3 years old, inside the finished basement.
Police haven’t indicated that anyone was being held against their will.
Police find 26 kids behind false wall at Colorado Springs day care
Oh my gosh and what the heck?!
That's one helluva game of hide & seek... I wonder how many times that trick was pulled in that house to fool day care inspectors, etc. At least it sounds like the children were unharmed. SMH.
For real!!! What in the heck?!??
That's a plot twist worthy of a movie reveal!! Doesn't sound particularly cozy though... poor things.
You would think parents would have noticed the crowded conditions as well.
Just if you think you've seen it all...huh???
So many diapers.......aaaccck
'I Thought It Was The Best Day Care': Mother Reacts To False Wall At Colorado Springs Day Care
The week of Nov. 3, Murphy saw a red flag. Her son no longer liked going to day care.
“I did prompt them because he kept saying, ‘Don’t take me to the little house. Don’t put me downstairs, don’t put me downstairs,'” said Murphy.
Wow -- sounds like it all came to a head in a hurry. Now all these parents have to find another good care center in a hurry -- and that is something you cannot hurry. SMH. What a mess.
Off the top of my head, I read they closed down 2 centers. So now you've got all these people scrambling. I hope at least some of them have friends and family that can help in a pinch.
Yes, like you, from what I've read, the owner ran two separate centers. I hope these parents do have some type of back-up, but I'm betting most of them do not. Again, what a mess. Some of these parents might lose their jobs due to not having day care for their child(ren).
the headline scared the heck outta me
glad it wasn't something much, much worse
I agree. When I read the headline, I imagined the worst possible case. Not so good, but much better than the alternative. Thanks, Katt
‘This was a dungeon’: Mother recounts Colorado Springs daycare conditions after DHS inspection
A google of childcare.us I believe it is liked with her name shows quite a few complaints. The most severe in 2017. Although not what for and says it was unfounded.
Unfounded like a fake wall?
Not judging, but nobody caught on? I'm old now, but back in the day parents chatted, and discussed. Understanding that today so many parents are juggling just to keep above water.
At first read I thought perhaps the owner was immigrant and caring for immigrants children. Not being PC nor judging, but in Philly they have kids in daycares run by immigrants caring for the children of imigrants who escaped horrid conditions. Well, children all on top of eachother at nap time without a mat or blankie beats their grandparents Cambodia no doubt about it. Killing Fields.
This woman? Who knows? Is this 2019? It's insanity.
