CO - Fort Carson GI Held, Crimes Go Back Two Years

Lucas faces 23 charges involving sex crimes against girls that could put him in prison for more than 100 years if he’s convicted on every count. He has not entered a plea, and his lawyer did not return phone calls seeking comment.

Colorado’s 4th Judicial District declined to release an arrest warrant affidavit and charge sheet for Lucas, saying the documents have been sealed by the court.

Captain John Stringer says Madison Police submitted information to the Department of Forensic Sciences in December of 2007 regarding the alleged sexual abuse case.

“Recently through CODIS, the national sex offender database, we received a hit for Aaron Gregory Lucas who was already on probation for similar crimes,” explains Stringer.
Stringer says once Madison Police received confirmation through the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences linking DNA evidence to Lucas, they obtained warrants and were able to transfer confirmation to law enforcement agents in Colorado.

A Fort Carson, Colo., officer suspected of sexually assaulting three young females and luring a total of 11 into his car can blame his twin brother at trial, a judge in Colorado Springs ruled Friday.

Shakes also referred to evidence that both Aaron Lucas and Brian Lucas drive a black Acura sedan

Sounds like reasonable doubt to me. I wouldn't convict him without 100% proof of where his brother was. :twocents:
