Investigation continues after murder arrest made in Kelsey Berreth case
Dan Corsentino is a private investigator, former Pueblo County Sheriff, and former Fountain Police Chief. He says the investigation is still in the early stages.

"When they tack on the solicitation charge it tells me there may be someone else out there that could be involved in this case," said Corsentino. "They may have even been approached to commit a crime or participated in this crime."

Corsentino believes he has an idea what that evidence could look like, and it is all about the DNA.

"The first thing investigators are looking for is to try and connect Frazee through blood splatter, blood, to try and find the location where the crime took place and then you are looking for DNA," said Corsentino.

Corsentino believes if they have come to the conclusion that she is no longer living then they must have some DNA proof. He speculates they could possess signs of a struggle in her home, DNA on clothing, or perhaps markings on Frazee himself.

"They are going to continue to build the technology side of the case. The forensic side of the case, and they are going to be able to present it clearly." said Corsentino. "The second question is will they be able to locate Kelsey."

Investigators say they have narrowed down their search for Berreth. In the mean time, Corsentino expects investigators to look for more third party individuals with knowledge of the alleged incident.

Sheila Frazee, the mother of the suspect, has also been detained by authorities but not placed under arrest.

The divorced mother of four, who is a registered nurse, lives with her youngest son at the ranch, which she outright owns according to public records.

She also owns two additional properties in the area.

Her son meanwhile attends to the ranch and also breeds dogs.

On Thursday night, officials were seen at Berreth's townhouse well into the night, and just hours later Frazee was placed in custody.

The two did not live together despite being engaged, a fact that many on social media suggested was a bad omen after learning of the disappearance.

It was Berreth however who had been hesitant to move in with her fiance because he still lived with his mother.

She instead decided to get her own home after moving to Colorado from Washington to be with Frazee.

In May, Berreth paid $184,900 for a two-bedroom home in Woodland Hills, where she lived with her daughter.

Kelsey Berreth’s Fiancé Patrick Frazee Seeks To Limit Pre-Trial Publicity
Patrick Frazee, who is accused of murdering his fiancée Kelsey Berreth, has filed a motion to limit the release of information about the case before it goes to trial. His attorneys cite “massive pre-indictment and pretrial negative publicity.” Prosecutors are fighting to have the motion denied without a hearing.

The order filed by the public defender’s office would “limit the dissemination of information by the attorneys, their agents, employees and all law enforcement investigators, personnel and employees, and all court personnel concerning this case.”

“Because of the massive pre-indictment and pretrial negative publicity, this Order is necessary to help preserve and protect, to any extent that it might be possible at this stage of the proceedings, Mr. Frazee’s right to a trial by jury and right to a trial by a fair and impartial jury,” the motion states.

The response filed by prosecutors disputed claims made by the defense.

“Contrary to the Defendant’s motion, there has not been ‘massive pre-indictment and pretrial negative publicity’ such that it would affect the Defendant’s right to a fair trial,” Elizabeth Reed, Lead Deputy District Attorney, stated. “At this stage of the case, the People do not believe a hearing on this motion is warranted.”

New court documents in State of Colorado v. Patrick Frazee
Frazee is being denied a request to limit pretrial publicity. He claimed there was "massive pre-indictment and pretrial negative publicity" which would limit his ability to have a fair trial. The district attorney said there was not enough evidence to support this claim.

In a separate document filed by Frazee's public defender, Frazee also refuses medical/psychiatric care while in custody.

These are two of several documents posted online. For a full list, click here.

New documents released in case against Kelsey Berreth’s fiancé
Monday’s court documents include a request from Frazee’s public defenders asking that investigators turn over emails and text messages they’ve recovered.

The defense and prosecution have also jockeyed over pre-trial publicity, with the defense alleging that “massive pre-indictment and pre-trial negative publicity” would impact Frazee’s right to a fair trial – something the prosecution denied in an opposing court filing.

These documents come two days after Twin Falls, Idaho police announced that they are assisting the FBI, Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Woodland Park Police Department to prepare and serve several search warrants.

A Colorado judge has denied a defense team’s request for a gag order in murder investigation of pilot Kelsey Berreth.

The Gazette reports that Fourth Judicial District Judge Lin Billing Vela was rejected a gag order motion filed by the defense attorneys for Patrick Frazee, who was arrested earlier this month on first-degree murder charges in the case of the missing mother, whose body had not been found. Berreth and Frazee, the father of her 1-year-old daughter, were engaged but did not live together, and Frazee did not report Berreth missing after she vanished on Thanksgiving Day.

Colleague: Patrick Frazee is professional, a good father
Clinton Cline admits he was shocked when he learned Frazee was arrested Friday on murder charges, related to the disappearance of Kelsey Berreth.

Cline, who serves as president of Cripple Creek’s Two Mile High Club, has gotten to know Frazee in recent years on a professional level. Frazee has provided farrier services to the club, which takes care of a herd of donkeys in Cripple Creek, over the last six to seven years, according to Cline.

Cline told News 5’s Sam Kraemer that Frazee is professional, a nice guy and dependable. He also said Frazee occasionally brought his daughter Kaylee with him, and that Cline’s wife would care for her while he worked.

In getting to know Frazee better, Cline said Frazee has been the main parental provider for the couple’s daughter Kaylee over the last year or so. On top of that, he said Frazee is a good father.

“He took real good care of her (Kaylee). I mean, he had a little jumpsuit for her and put extra socks on her,” Cline said.
